Merideth: If you're looking for an elevated appearance for the front end of your 1997-2018 TJ or JK Wrangler, these Raxiom axial series 7-inch LED headlights with the DRL chrome housing and clear lens will be a great way to achieve that. Now, this set of headlights will be a great pick for the Wrangler owners who really like the detailing of the new JL headlights with the halo and inner projectors in that center bar there and want to incorporate some of that into their build to kind of bring that modern feel. These will also completely transform the lighting performance of your Wrangler if visibility is something that needs to be improved when it comes to your build. Now, these headlights will have a clean and crisp appearance, thanks to the chrome inner housing and the high-intensity LEDs. On the outer border, this will feature a halo for the daytime running light with additional side detailing to add that style element. And the high and low beam, again, will be in that inner light bar, featuring a projector lens to form a concentrated and clear beam pattern for good visibility. These will be strong for a light with a chrome die cast housing and a polycarbonate lens on the front to resist any impact, especially if you're taking your Jeep out on the trail. Now, the headlights will also be IP67, dust and waterproof rated, so, you can rest assured that these are gonna hold up with no fogging or potential damage to the LEDs inside because of water or dirt. Now, you can also keep some peace of mind that these are gonna be super easy to install with plug-and-play wiring harnesses. There is a little bit of wiring when it comes to the daytime running light but nothing too difficult, and we'll show you that in just a moment. And these are gonna be DOT and SAE-approved, so, you can keep some peace of mind there too. Now, these are gonna be super affordable for a set of headlights at roughly $250. And I think what sets these headlights apart from the rest is that these are gonna have a very clean but simplistic look to them, it's really gonna clean up the front end and modernize it while also giving you a big increase in lighting. Now, not only that but, again, these are gonna be effortless to install while also just saving you some extra cash in the long run, making this a great pick.Install is gonna be a one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter and probably take you about an hour to get the job done with some basic hand tools. At this point, we can head over to the shop and check out a detailed breakdown of the install process and what it looks like step by step. That's gonna wrap it up for me, let's go ahead and get into it.Man 1: For this install, you will need a clip removal tool, Phillips-head screwdriver, wire strippers and crimpers, and, for the easiest way to connect into your harness, a T-tap and a male spade connector. What's up, guys. Today we're gonna be installing some new headlights on our Wrangler. And before we do that, we're gonna send you to watch a short video on how to uninstall your factory headlights, and we'll see you when you get back.Man 2: So, this is a relatively easy install, since there's only a few screws that hold these headlights in. However, we do need to remove our stock grille, so, we're gonna pop our hood open so we can access the plastic retainers that hold that in. So, you're gonna have six of these plastic retainers across the top of your grille. They're really easy to remove, we're gonna use a flathead screwdriver to pop up the center and pull the whole thing out.So, the top of the grille is free. However, the bottom of the grille is held in with a few metal clips. The way we're gonna remove that is we're just gonna tug out on that and that whole thing will disconnect. After we do that, we're gonna pull this grille away and we'll disconnect our lights. So, we're gonna turn these until they unlock, let those hang there. Do the same thing for the other side, just turn these till they unlock, and we'll pull this grille away. So, the next step we're gonna remove the four small screws that hold this chrome ring in here which is holding our light in. We're gonna use a T15 Torx to remove those. One thing you wanna make sure you do is keep a hand on it while you're removing these screws because it will just fall out on you. So, to unplug these, we're gonna press back on this red locking tab. Once that's all the way up, we can press down on our release and unplug our light.Man 1: All righty, guys. Welcome back. Now that we've shown you how to remove your factory headlights, we're gonna go ahead and install our new headlights and we're gonna start that process by installing our new harness to our factory harness. So, our first step is gonna be to grab our blue, black, and white factory connection to our LED connection harness converter. Go ahead and plug that into your factory harness. Once that's snapped into place, go ahead and slide in your red safety tab. And next we can go ahead and grab our anti-flicker harness and we can plug that in.Next we can go ahead and grab our yellow parking-light wire which we're gonna tap into our parking-light harness. And we already have our set-up on our factory harness side. So, we're gonna use male and female spade connectors to go ahead and make that connection. And if you haven't already done this, it is the white and gray wire on your parking lights you wanna tap into. So, to do that, we're gonna use our wire strippers and crimpers. Go ahead and strip off some sheathing. We'll go ahead and place our connector on. And we'll go ahead and crimp that into place.Go ahead and give it a little jiggle just to make sure it has a firm connection. And we'll go ahead and plug that into our tap wire. Now that we have that done, we can go ahead and plug our main harness into our headlight. Now that we have that plugged in, we can go ahead and plug our yellow wire into our red wire with our female connector onto our other end. You may need to pull back this plastic sheathing.Next you wanna go ahead and tuck your wiring back in behind your housing. So, after you have your main harness connected, we can go ahead and start tucking our wires back in. Now, you will wanna run your yellow parking-light wire back behind your housing bezel here just so it doesn't get caught up in between your headlight and your ring. And then go ahead and plug that into your red wire. And then we can go ahead and finish tucking our harness back in. And you wanna make sure your lettering is facing up, go ahead and find your slots for that. And then we can grab our headlight ring and set that back into place.Once we have our ring in place and our headlight set, we can go ahead and use our Phillips-head screwdriver to go ahead and reinstall our screws. Then you can go ahead and use a zip tie or something to go ahead and tuck your excess wiring out of the way so it doesn't catch on anything. Go ahead and set that back behind your bezel. And once you have this done, you can go ahead and repeat this process for the other side. So, now that you have both of your headlights installed, we can go ahead and reinstall our front grille. And to do that, we'll start by plugging back in our turn signals. And we'll just grab our harnesses here, reconnect our connectors, and push our red safety tab back into place. And go ahead and do the same thing for your other side. So, once you have that done, you can go ahead and line up your lower mounting tabs. Go ahead and push those back into place. And then we can go ahead and reinstall our push pins up top. Now we can go ahead and reinstall our push pins on the top of our grille. All righty, guys, that about wraps up our review and install of our Raxiom axial 7-inch LED headlights with DRLs, chrome housing, and clear lenses for your 97-18 Jeep Wrangler, TJ and JK. Thank you for watching. And as always, for everything Wrangler keep it right here at extremeterrain.com.
