Superior Design. ARB's Differential Cover in black is designed using advanced computer technology to create a cross brace support to assist in transferring energy and provide added structural support to your Jeep's axle. This design incorporates tight angled surfaces to maximize approach and departure angles while ensuring protection of your differential's critical internal components while overcoming the toughest trail obstacles.
Upgraded Plugs. Providing extra ease for both standard and high pinion models, this Wrangler diff cover comes equipped with a dipstick built into the filler cap and makes easy work of checking your gear oil level. Built into the dip stick and drain plug are high strength magnets; Any damages will become immediately apparent when changing or checking oil levels, allowing a chance to repair before blow outs or major damage occurs.
Extreme Construction. This Dana 44 differential cover is made from high tensile nodular iron to provide extreme strength and protection off road. High quality neodymium magnets are used in the dip stick and plug to ensure even the tiniest shavings are picked up. This Wrangler diff cover comes with replacement gear bolts to ensure strength throughout and is finished in a durable black powder coat to prevent rust and corrosion due to the elements.

ARB Dana 44 Diff Cover ..
Just replaced my front and rear differential cover w/ the ARB cover .. These things are built like a tank .. At least 5 times thicker than the original .. They fit flawlessly and were a breeze to install all .. The only issue I ran into was you need a pump to get the diff fluid back in the differential due to the upper clearance of the Jeep Wranglers .. Am seriously impressed w/ my new ARB covers ..Helpful (2)

Had to match!
I have been looking for a after market Dif for at least 12 months. It finally was what I would say meant to be. I moved from PA to AZ and when we got here the front dif was leaking and I had to replace the seals. So why not just up grade them when the dif cover is already off. Then about a month later the rear started leaking. It was meant to be. So I had to match and replace the back to match.Helpful (3)

Ready for the rocks!
Looks great and works great too. Easy install on our 2016 JK Rubicon Hard Rock with 3” Metal Cloak lift and Dana 44 axles. Peeled back the stock dif covers on 3 occasions causing oil leaks and had to repair. So decided to get these for the front and back and hopefully not have to worry about it again. Vulnerable spot on rocks as it is the lowest spot. Took it out last weekend and did scrape the front one. No issue! These things are solid!Helpful (3)

Great purchase, it protects the ring gear well. I had a 79’ CJ5 that had stock diff cover, a hard slide on a rock caused the cover to dent in enough to rub on ring gear, a leak took place and ended up replacing axle later. Put these on my JKU to prevent this and so far they have done a great job. Already I’ve rubbed the front one and there is no worries!Helpful (2)

This is one heavy duty diff cover. It is also great looking! I will be putting one of these on my front axle when I get the chance. The magnets on the dip stick and drain plug are very strong. My rear diff took less oil to fill with this cover. I have heard some people say their axles took more or less oil than than expected. So make sure you mark the dip stick and check while filling.Helpful (3)

ARB differential covers, front and rear
Very strong and can take a beating. It’s better than the terraflex. I know the terraflex geeks want the name. Research shows why. Easy install.Helpful (2)

Love the look and how sturdy it is Only complaint is the filler can be dificult ro reach on my jeep lj the gas tank skid can get in the way. Also wish it had a full hole on side like oem I like the top filler but the oem fill till spill method is easier than the dip stick. Small complaint i still love it and would buy it againHelpful (2)

Will this cover fit the front Dana 44 axle on my 05 Rubicon without having to modify the track bar or steering components?
Hello, yes this will fit on the Dana 44 differential. You should not run into any clearance issues with the track bar or steering components.
Purchased a set of the ARB Dana 44's recently from ET. Can you advise what the recommended torque spec in FT LBS is for a 13' JKU. Do not see a reference in the instructional material. Thanks
For Dana 30, 35. and 44 differentials the UNC Cap Screws must be torqued to 34.5Nm (25.4 ft-lb).
I have Dana 44 axles on my '14 JKU Rubicon, but I've heard these covers will not fit with stock diff locks (which I have as well). Can anyone confirm?
The ARB Dana 44 Differential Cover are compatible with the stock differential lockers on the Rubicons.
I know these are supposed to fit nearly all Dana 44 differentials. I just want to know for sure if it will fit a 2018 Wrangler JL Rubicon. Will it?
Unfortunately, we have not test fitted these covers to guarantee fitment for the 2018 JL wranglers. While it may fit the JL properly, we would not be able to guarantee the fitment. We apologize for the inconvenience.
The description states "does not work with aluminum Dana 44 Housings". I am not able to use a magnet as I don't have access to the jeep at this time. is there another way to tell which material I have. 2016 JKU Rubicon Hard Rock edition. Thanks in advance.
Your JKU Rubicon does not feature the aluminum Dana 44 Housing, so the ARB Dana 44 Differential Cover will work with your set up.
Your TJ either came with a Dana 44 or Dana 35 rear axle. We have an axle identification guide here: http://www.extremeterrain.com/wrangler-jeep-axle-identification.html to help you determine which axle you have.
This would fit both a Dana 44 front and rear axle. we suggest reaching out to your local dealer to confirm what axles you have in your JKU but most of the Sahara JKU's came with Dana 44 rear axles and Dana 30 front axles.
This ARB Dana 44 differential cover in red is designed for use on 1987-2018 Jeep Wrangler YJ, TJ and JK models equipped with a Dana 44 axle. As long as you fall under this category you should be good to go.
This would fit on your Dana 44 housing as long as it is not aluminum.
You would want to purchase a replacement gasket, as this does not come with one.
The ARB Dana 44 Differential Cover will not significantly increase the oil capacity of your diff.
This will come with grade-8 bolts yes.
Yes, the ARB Dana 44 Differential Cover will fit your 2018 Sahara on the rear Dana 44 axle.
