Great for Off-Road. AMP Research's PowerStep Xtreme Running Boards are unlike other running boards made for your Jeep Wrangler. They are ideal for off-road because when not in use, they retract flush underneath your Jeep to provide maximum ground clearance. The built-in LED lighting provides an additional level of safety entering and exiting your Wrangler.

Sturdy Running Boards. PowerStep Xtreme Running Boards are made from a durable aluminum alloy. A black powder coat finish protects the boards from corrosion. The board's power motors and bushings are sealed to protect them from dirt and the elements.

Bolts On. This pair of PowerStep Xtreme Running Boards bolts onto existing factory mounts. Wiring is required with the controller module that mounts under the hood.

AMP Research Warranty. These PowerStep Xtreme Running Boards are covered by a 5-year/60,000 mile warranty.

I have a 2008 Jeep Wrangler Sahara Unlimited with a 4 inch lift and stock running boards. A 4" lift and 35" tires makes it a little difficult for my wife to get in and out. How much does the power step lower when deployed compared to stock mounted? Also what is the difference between your Powerstep Xtreme and the Powerstep? Thank you

    JayW

    • The Amp Research PowerStep Xtreme Running Boards will lower approximately 10" below their stowed position allowing for approximately 12" lower surface to step up as opposed to stepping directly in. The Xtreme version adds LED lighting, and increased durability.

do these work with the doors off?

    WinnS

    • In order to operate the Amp Research PowerStep Xtreme Running Boards with out the doors, you may to have to modify the harness and run a separate switch in the cabin, which we have not done. We recommend using this product with the doors on to avoid any mechanical/electrical issues.

      Awesome steps

I had a local off-road shop install the steps for me. It took them about 4 hours to do the complete install. They to had a issue with the control module Not working right. They contacted customer support told them what was happening. The manufacturer overnighted a new controller that fixed the issue. The steps are great the 12.5 inch drop makes getting in the jeep so much easier

      Rugged!

The first set of steps I ordered showed up with a faulty controller (or the shop broke it, who knows). After my local shop installed it, the steps went up and down (and stayed down in a lot of cases). He ordered a new set and replaced the controller and Voila! Works like a champ. I went off-roading (Desert trails) with a guy that had the non-Xtreme version of these and the look of the Xtreme is MUCH more rugged. The regular versions look "Sahara friendly". They are smooth on the outside. These have little ridges that improve the look and help keep you on the step. The dual-motor setup adds some peace of mind and they also have really neat bright blue lights that illuminate when the doors open that make the Jeep look AWESOME at night. Ive had them for 2 weeks now and love every minute of them. I dont think these will work as rockers/sliders well but for 95 of the time, they are great. The kids love the "Transformer" aspect of them too and Ive received lots of looks/compliments from them. Downside is the cost and they probably arent "Rock Crawling" friendly.
