      Video Review & Installation

Hey, guys. Today, we're checking out the Yukon Gear Dana 30 Front Axle, Dana 44 Rear Axle Ring and Pinion Gear Kit, with the Install Kit and a 4.56 Gear Ratio, fitting all 2007 to 2018 JK Wranglers, excluding the Rubicon models. Now, this is gonna be great for the JK owners who have upgraded to larger wheels and tires, and want some gearing performance to match. Now, when you upgrade to larger wheels and tires, you're adding a lot of rolling diameter, and when doing so, the engine does have to work a little bit harder in order to turn them if you don't have the correct gear ratio to match your specific tire size setup. Now, upgrading your gears will end up improving your fuel economy and improving your gearing performance when it comes to the trail, or even just driving on the street, when the gear ratio and the tires match. So not only is this great for the daily driver and better trail performance, it's also great for the weekend warrior or the dedicated off-road Wrangler. Now, there are a lot of ways that you can calculate your specific gear ratio for your specific setup, and even get ranges on what you want as far as performance is concerned. Now, one really easy equation is to multiply 0.12 by your tire size or your expected tire size, and that will give you a number to base your gear ratio off of. Now, this is gonna range from a lower numerical gear ratio for better MPG, or a higher numerical gear ratio for better power and better torque. Now, if you've landed at a 4.56 gear ratio, then this will be a great kit to look at. This kit specifically will include a front and rear ring and pinion setup, while also including a full install kit, which is essential in order to get these installed on your JK. Now, this will include all the new bolts, the shims, the bearings, and really everything that you need down, to the grease, Loctite, and even a brush to get these installed on your Wrangler. Not to mention, these gears are incredibly strong, made of an 8620 triple alloy steel, ensuring that these are going to hold up in the long run. Now, I would like to call out again that this is not gonna fit the Rubicon, because this setup is specifically for the Dana 30 front and the Dana 44 rear, as to where the Rubicon has a Dana 44 front and rear. As far as pricing goes, this is gonna come in at roughly $600, and I think that that's a really good price point for a fully inclusive kit. And there are gonna be other options available on the page, and of course, they're gonna come in different gear ratios, but they are going to be pretty similar in how they're set up.Now, some kits may include a full master overhaul kit like this, or they may only include a partial install kit. Now, there are other options available on the page that will only come with the ring and pinion by themselves, and they may only come with a front or the rear instead of both. Now, I personally think if you're looking to get a very all-inclusive kit that this is gonna be a great choice. And Yukon is a very reputable brand, and they make high-quality components, so you can ensure that you're getting your money's worth when purchasing this kit. Now, as far as the install goes, I'm gonna give this a very big three out of three on the difficulty meter in order to get this installed. And this is going to require professional installation unless you have a lot of mechanical experience. Now, there's a lot involved with getting these installed in your axles, as well as the requirement in special tools in order to get these spaced and installed correctly, so I would take it to a reputable shop in order to get them put in your JK, and it's most likely going to take them about a day to do it. So again, if you are looking to re-gear your JK and you're interested in a 4.56 gear ratio for your 2007 to 2018 JK Wrangler, then this is going to be a great choice. Now, that's gonna wrap it up for this video. For more reviews and products just like this, always keep it right here at

Increased Performance. When upgrading your JK with a set of larger wheels and tires, do yourself a favor by installing a set of Yukon Gear 4.56 Front and Rear Pinion Gears before tackling any rugged off-road trails. These Yukon Gears will give you the confidence to tame any terrain. This Yukon Gear Front and Rear Gear Kit includes top quality bearings, seals, front and rear gears with install kits, and all the accessories needed to install your new ring and pinion set.

Quality Construction. Featuring a strategically engineered design and the use of high-tech technology in their manufacturing process makes Yukon Ring and Pinion Gears one of the best gears available on the aftermarket today. Yukon Gear sets are manufactured from a premium grade 8620 triple alloy steel and are precision heat treated to OEM specifications for extreme durability and a longer life.

When you increase the rolling diameter of your tires, the engine has to work twice as hard to turn them. Naturally, this will lead to an increase in fuel consumption and reduced performance. However, by re-gearing your rig to match your new larger tires, you can regain this lost acceleration, performance and fuel economy.

Professional Installation Recommended. The installation of Ring and Pinon Gears can be a very intricate process, so mechanical experience is highly recommended. Follow the included instructions for best results.

Warranty. A 1 Year Limited Warranty will cover any defect that may be found in the craftsmanship or materials.
