Hey, what's up, guys. Ryan here from ExtremeTerrain and today I'll be reviewing and installing the Pro Traxx, four-inch oval side step bars in black, fitting your 2018 and up four-door Wrangler JL. This is gonna be for the JL owner that is looking for an affordable option to gain them some easy access to their vehicle or for any cargo that they may be reaching that they have stored up top. It is a very affordable option and a great upgrade for the Jeep owner on a budget that's just looking for a basic bolt-on. This is an excellent way to change up the appearance of your Jeep while adding some functionality and even some side protection. Now with these, you're going to get full wheel to wheel protection for those venerable rocker panels and these stylish step pads are going to give you maximum traction when you're stepping up. Now the side step bar is made from four-inch oval stainless steel which is gonna give you a lot better corrosion protection than your standard steel step. They come with heavy-duty steel brackets and the whole thing is finished off with a very nice gloss black powder coating that's gonna provide even more corrosion protection and also it's going to give you that aggressive off-road styling. These have a very sleek and smooth design with curved ends that are capped fully welded. Now these steps are a very easy bolt-on, they reuse factory mounting points, come with brand new hardware, so there's no drilling or modification required to get these installed. These are very reasonably priced and geared towards the budget-minded enthusiasts that doesn't want to sacrifice quality. At just around $220, this is one of the better options to go with for the price on the website. As far as the installation goes, I'm going to give this a very easy two out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter as you can get these steps installed in under two hours just using basic hand tools. Now with that being said let's hop into the install.Tools that we use for this install, 3/8-drive impact, 13-millimeter socket, 6-millimeter Allen key, 5-millimeter Allen key, 13-millimeter wrench. Now before we get started with his installation there's one thing that I like to mention. If you do have factory sidesteps or rocker guards, you want to get those off. It is relatively simple to do, you just need a 13-millimeter socket and a 10-millimeter socket. Once you get them off, you can ditch them, you're ready to install your sidesteps. Now, with this kit, we get a ton of brackets. Luckily all these brackets are labeled. You're gonna have an actual step bracket and you're also gonna have a supporting bracket, and they're all labeled driver side and passenger side as well as whether they are for the rear, center, or front. So we're going to crawl into there, we got our hardware ready, we're going to get these brackets installed and then after that, we'll get the step installed. So we're gonna start at the front here, we're going to do our step bracket first. Now we're gonna use the M8 hardware that they give us. Each one of these little gold bolts, each one of them is going to get a lock washer and flat washer. So we're going to go up to the bracket into the pre-existing holes in our Jeep. Now if you don't have these pre-existing threaded holes, then they give you a little clip nuts that you can shove up in there and that way you have something to screw the bolt into. So we're gonna take our supporting bracket. It's gonna have this little offset and this hole right here is actually going to bolt to our step to make it even stronger. So we're gonna line that up. We're gonna take another M8 bolt with a flat washer on it. That's going to go through both of our brackets. And then on the other side, we're gonna get a flat washer and then lock washer, and then a nut. So through the pinch weld, we're going to have these other M8 bolts. However, these are gonna be black bolts, they have an Allen head and you get a flat washer on those. They're gonna go from the outside through the bracket, through the pinch weld. On the backside, it's going to get a gold flat washer, a gold lock washer, and then a gold nut. So we're going to do that for both sides and then we'll move on to our next set of brackets. So next we're gonna do our center bracket here in the middle. You can see this is labeled DC for drivers center and we're gonna do the same thing, M8 bolt with a lock washer and a flat washer. It's gonna go up through the body and then we'll do our supporting bracket. This bracket's going to be labeled DC as well. It's gonna go on the outside of the pinch weld. Use a M8 bolt with a flat washer and then we're gonna go with another flat washer, a lock washer and a nut on the other side. So for the pinch weld, same thing, M8 black bolts for the black washer. And then on the backside, gold flat washer, lock washer, and gold nut.And of course, the last one of those brackets are going to be labeled DR for driver's rear. [inaudible 00:06:09] we got all of our brackets installed so we're ready to install our step I.'m going to grab a friend to help me get this on. Also, you want to pick your driver's side. So we're working on the driver side. As you can see there's a gap in between the step pad and the end in and obviously this lettering is facing outward. So we're going to lift this up, get it installed, and then we can go around, tighten everything up. So to attach the steps to our brackets, we're gonna use the M10 hardware that they give us. This is the stubbiest hardware. It's gonna get this fancy little lock washer on there. We're gonna put that on there and then it's going to get a large flat washer on there. So we're just gonna go up to the bracket into our steps. Each bracket is gonna get two bolts, so we're gonna use a total of six for this side.So now we have all of our hardware installed we can go around and tighten everything up. I'm gonna start with the bracket. So I'm going to do the bolts going up through into the floor. We're going to use a 13-millimeter socket to tighten those up. So to do the pinch weld bolts, you'll need a 13-millimeter wrench and a 5-millimeter Allen key. We'll go ahead and tighten those up. And then to do the M8 bolt holding both of these brackets together you'll need a 13-millimeter socket and a 13-millimeter wrench. Now to do the bolts on the step, we're going to need a six-millimeter Allen key. And after that, we're going to do the same thing for the other two sets of brackets. So now that we have the driver side completely installed, you can follow those same exact steps to get that passenger side installed. However, that's gonna wrap up my review and install. For more products and videos like this check us out at extremeterrain.com.
