Specs. Designed for use with automatic transmissions, this Shift Linkage Adapter by TeraFlex bolts directly onto the transmission and the transfer case alike, thus eliminating negative movement in the transmission. This gives you much smoother, easier low range shifting, and gets rid of many of the problems caused by the stock transmission's setup. This kit gives you great low-range performance and easy, responsive shifting even in tough, challenging situations.
Construction. TeraFlex's Shift Linkage Adapter is a high quality part made out of stainless steel which attaches to automatic Wrangler transmissions of non-Rubicon TJ models. This adapter is usable with the AX 15 5-speed manual transmission but must be heavily modified first. The part is made to work with 1 inch suspension lifts. This part comes with a standard 12 month warranty from the manufacturer.
Application. Fits 1997-2006 Wrangler TJ non-Rubicon models.

Great shift linkage!
A really nice upgrade over OEM junk. A little tedious getting everything dialed in properly, but well worth the effort. This type linkage should come standard from the factory. I really like it.Helpful (0)

Better than stock, not as good as a cable shift
After installing a 1.25" body lift on my TJ, the stock shifter was too short, even when fully adjusted, to shift fully into 4 Low. If I wanted to use 4 Low, I had to hold the handle in the position or else it immediately popped out. After doing some research, I got narrowed down to this Heim-style linkage or a cable shifter from Savvy. I had heard great reviews about the cable shifters, but I was a little put off by the expense. This seemed like a better solution. It didn't take very long to install as a whole, but adjusting this adapter linkage to row through the full range of T-Case shifts took forever. As I was alone, I was constantly having to lengthen or shorten a piece, crawl out from under the Jeep, try to shift, then get back under. As a whole, it works fine for what I needed it to do. It is still vague and clunky, but its not as bad as stock. If you have the money, get a cable shifter. This isn't bad by any means, but there are better options.Helpful (1)

WHAT A GREAT PRODUCT
WE HAVE A REPAIR SHOP IN UPSTATE NY, AND WE REPLACE THESE ALL THE TIME. CUSTOMER THINK THEY NEED TO REPLACE THETRANSFER CASE AND A SIMPLY TERA FLEX LINKAGE ADAPTER SOLVES THE ISSUES OF POPPING OUT OF 4 WHEEL DRIVE. A MUST HAVE FOR JEEP OWNERS!Helpful (9)

If your having trouble shifting you transfer case this is the way to go. Easy to install easy to adjust. I did a lift on my 02 tj and wanted something better. It completely eliminates the body to transfer case mount to just the transfer case. Going to purchase this for my 99tj.Helpful (9)

The linkage adjustment rod-bolt needed to be shortened with a grinder to allow the shifter to be engaged in 4low. I cut off 1/4" on each side of the rod after which it was as short as it could get. Other than that it works great. The shifter is very tight with no clunky feeling.Helpful (10)

Much better than stock
My stock linkage was falling off the jeep. The terra flex part was shipped fast and looks stout. The install does take time to work the linkage length, but it's worth it.Helpful (10)

Be careful with the threaded bolt the instructions say to put the shifter in the neutral position and I cut to much off was easier for me to have it in 2 H. Other than that it has worked great so farHelpful (11)
I have a 98 Jeep with 4” suspension lift will this work
The Teraflex Shift Linkage Adapter is only designed for Use with a 1 Inch Body Lift Only. This will not work with your 4" suspension lift!
I have a 2003 jeep wrangler with a nv3550 5 speed manual, is there any modifications known to make it fit? In the instructions it says trimming is needed for clearance if on a AX15, i just have the next model 5 speed. Also not i have a 4 inch suspension lift. No body lift, but lowering spacers for transmission skid plate. Im certainly gonna try make it work either way cause stock setup is frustratingly horrible. Thanks for your time was just trying to save time see if im not the only one that has a manual trying to do this.
I have an 06 tj, with a 6speed, with 1 inch body lift, will this require modifications for install? The description. Is confusing as to what tranny/tcase this works for
This will not be compatible with 6 speed transmissions.
I have a 2 in body lift that the guy before me installed will this still work?
The Teraflex Shift Linkage Adapter is designed for a 1 inch body lift and may not work properly with a 2 inch body lift installed.
This is designed for 1" body lift. So if I have a belly up pan. Would I need 2" body lift?
The Teraflex Shift Linkage Adapter is designed to replace the stock linkage on a Wrangler that has a body lift, a transfer case lowering kit or a belly up kit or any combination that changes the relationship between the body tub shift bracket and the transfer case shift bracket. The BellyUp Skid Plate requires a 1" body lift for install, as with the Linkage adapter, it would not require an additional amount of body lift (like 2") to be installed.
The Teraflex Shift Linkage Adapter is designed for use with a 1" body lift. We have not attempted to use this without the body lift.
