Why are some Teraflex Lift kits discontinued? and why does this kit not say that sway bar links are included?

  • Items are discontinued for many reasons as they may not be sold any longer from Teraflex, or perhaps a different marketing direction was taken either from them directly or internally here. The kits themselves will contain different components at times for example this kit does not contain sway bar links.

Will I need to change the bump stops when I install this? I would also like to get he matching steering stabilizer - which one would I need to order. My Jeep has 33” tires on stock rims with spacers already- what other parts will I need other than he exhaust extenders?

  • This kit would not require changing the bump stops once installed but to get a smoother ride, switching out the bump stops would definitely help! If you still have the stock tie rods, you would need the stabilizer that works with 1-3/8" tie rod. This kit does include everything needed to install it on your Jeep and will not require anything but the exhaust spacer kit.

Really well made, I am happy with the purchase. Rear track bar bolt got little close to the spring, other then that I have no issues.

Awesome lift, easy installation, vague directions

Hello, yesterday my wife and I installed this lift on our 2017 JKUS. From start to finish it took us 5 hours on the driveway using 2 jack stands and a floor jack (plus a cordless impact, some wrenches, and a socket set. What I found to be most helpful was watching a few installation videos before starting the project. The included written instructions were vague at best, but weren't necessary after watching the videos. If you watched the videos you will see that when installing the rear taskbar bracket it is mentioned that you will need to take the included paper template, place it on the old bracket and drill a hole in the designated location. This was not the case, the bracket attached without needing any additional holes, a template was not included, and the written instructions made no mention of this step. This newer version of the kit must have eliminated the need for this. This is a big plus in my eyes because the thought of drilling holes in my jeep makes me cringe. To make installation easier, spray a penetrating oil on the front top shock mount nut a day before, a few hours before, and again right before. The nut came off like butter. Literally the hardest part was screwing on the new upper front passenger shock mount nut as there isn't much space to work. That step being the hardest part speaks to the simplicity and engineering that was put into this kit. We were able to complete this install without the need for a spring compressor, the suspension has enough travel once its freed up to get the old springs off, and the new ones on. The jeep rides smoother, takes bumps with more confidence and gave us the look and clearance we were expecting. We are using stock rims at the moment so we did need to buy wheel spacers to make them work. A Barricade front bumper and Smittybilt winch was installed afterwards without any noticeable sag in the front end, quality springs. I dont have any experience with other jeep lift kites to compare this to but I couldn't be more satisfied with it.
