Awesome lift, easy installation, vague directions
Hello, yesterday my wife and I installed this lift on our 2017 JKUS. From start to finish it took us 5 hours on the driveway using 2 jack stands and a floor jack (plus a cordless impact, some wrenches, and a socket set. What I found to be most helpful was watching a few installation videos before starting the project. The included written instructions were vague at best, but weren't necessary after watching the videos. If you watched the videos you will see that when installing the rear taskbar bracket it is mentioned that you will need to take the included paper template, place it on the old bracket and drill a hole in the designated location. This was not the case, the bracket attached without needing any additional holes, a template was not included, and the written instructions made no mention of this step. This newer version of the kit must have eliminated the need for this. This is a big plus in my eyes because the thought of drilling holes in my jeep makes me cringe. To make installation easier, spray a penetrating oil on the front top shock mount nut a day before, a few hours before, and again right before. The nut came off like butter. Literally the hardest part was screwing on the new upper front passenger shock mount nut as there isn't much space to work. That step being the hardest part speaks to the simplicity and engineering that was put into this kit. We were able to complete this install without the need for a spring compressor, the suspension has enough travel once its freed up to get the old springs off, and the new ones on. The jeep rides smoother, takes bumps with more confidence and gave us the look and clearance we were expecting. We are using stock rims at the moment so we did need to buy wheel spacers to make them work. A Barricade front bumper and Smittybilt winch was installed afterwards without any noticeable sag in the front end, quality springs. I dont have any experience with other jeep lift kites to compare this to but I couldn't be more satisfied with it.
