Toyota Tacoma Pulleys

Underdrive pulleys on the Tacoma reduce the parasitic load the accessories put on the crank by spinning the alternator, power steering pump, and A/C compressor at a lower ratio — less energy consumed running accessories means more available at the wheels, and the result is a modest but real improvement in throttle response and acceleration. Toyota Tacoma Pulleys are the bolt-on modification that gets more out of the engine without changing anything inside it.

Lightweight aluminum underdrive pulleys on the Tacoma reduce rotational inertia compared to the factory cast units, which means the engine spins up to RPM faster under load — a gain that is most noticeable in the mid-range where the Tacoma's four-cylinder and V6 both live during normal driving. Alternator output does drop slightly with an underdrive pulley ratio, and confirming the Tacoma's electrical load doesn't exceed the reduced output under peak demand is worth doing before installation, particularly on a truck running aftermarket accessories that weren't part of the original calculation.

Pulley kits that free up power and reduce rotational drag on the Tacoma are what Toyota Tacoma Pulleys deliver. The Tacoma engine performance lineup starts at Toyota Tacoma Engine Performance Parts, throttle body and accessory picks at Toyota Tacoma Throttle Bodies & Accessories, and fuel system parts at Toyota Tacoma Fuel System Parts.
