      Video Review & Installation

Merideth: If you're currently running tail lights that are cracked, fogged, gorgeous, flat out, don't fit the look that you want for your 2005 to 2015 Toyota Tacoma, these LED tail lights with the matte black housing and the clear lens will be a great solution to check out. I would like to call out that this will only work with models that have the factory halogen tail lights. Nonetheless, this will be an affordable upgrade for your truck that will offer some unique styling with the circular center and of course, better lighting performance. Thanks to the LEDs inside. Now, taking a closer look at the light, these will add a very sleek look with the black internal housing and have multiple red reflectors for some extra style but also of course, for extra safety. These will also feature a clear lens, which will of course allow a lot of light to pass through, compared to a smoke lens, and it will be impact resistant and able to take any light abuse if you take your Tacoma all broke. Now, the tail light will be split in three with a chrome reflector up at the top for your turn signal. You're gonna have a reflector down at the bottom for your reverse light, and the brake lights are gonna be right in the middle. Now, the center of the light will feature a circular light bar around a cluster of bright red LEDs that will again offer you some very unique styling that you may be looking for. They will have to swap over your turn signal and your reverse light bulb, but everything will be plug and play when it comes to the install, making getting these onto your truck super straightforward. Now, when it comes to the price, again, these are going to be pretty affordable coming in at roughly $200. Now, comparing this to other options available on the page, again, these are going to stand out when it comes to the design of the light, but also be more on the affordable side because you are reusing some of those factory bulbs. Now, price your choices on the page may be fully LED or only swap over one bulb, or they may be a completely different style with a smoked or red lens or even a chrome housing. Now, choosing the styling comes down to your personal preference, but I think if you're looking to save a couple of bucks while elevating the styling of your Tacoma, then this is gonna be a great pick. Now, install will be a one outta three wrenches on the difficulty meter, taking you about an hour to get the job done with some very basic hand tools. And one of our guys in the shop is gonna show you how to get that done step by step. So that wraps it up for me. Let's go ahead and get 'em to the install.Instructor: The tools you're gonna need for this installation include an electric or regular ratchet and a 10-millimeter socket. How's the going to everybody? Today, we're installing aftermarket tail lights on our '13 Tacoma and I'll show you how to do it step by step. So let's get started. With our tailgate down, we're working on our passenger side tail light. And there's three, 10-millimeter screws that we have to uninstall so we can pull the tail light out. Now we just have to pull on the tail light straight back to pop it out. With the tail light out, we can access the main wiring harness here, which is a simple push tab connector. So we'll push down on this and separate the connector. Before we install our aftermarket tail light, we do have to transfer over the bulbs from our factory headlight and we're transferring the reverse light bulb as well as the turn signal bulb. To remove the bulbs from the factory headlight, turn the socket counterclockwise. And then just pull firmly on the bulb till it releases. Set that aside. We're gonna take out the reverse light as well, same thing. For our aftermarket tail light, much of the same thing, just rotate the sockets counterclockwise to remove them. And when you place the bulbs in, just push down firmly to get them seated properly. You might have to give them a little wiggle. There's a tight connection. Then going back in. Line up the tabs and turn clockwise. That is the uninstall process for the passenger side tail light. For the driver's side tail light, repeat the same steps. We're gonna start the install process by connecting our main harness to our aftermarket tail light. So when you push that down far enough, you should hear a very light audible click, but once you have that seated properly, we can push our tail light into place. Now we can reinstall our three bolts to the factory hardware using our 10-millimeter socket. All right. Once we have all three of them in, few threads by hand and tighten them down with our 10 mill. So that's the install process for the passenger side tail light. For the driver's side tail light, just repeat the same steps. That's gonna wrap up this review and install of the LED tail lights with matte black housing and clear lenses for the '05 to '15 Tacoma with the factory halogen tail lights. Thank you for watching and for all things Tacoma, keep it right here at
