This Smittybilt G.E.A.R. Front Seat Cover in Coyote Tan is gonna be for those of you that have a 1987 all the way up through the most current model year Wrangler that are looking for a seat cover that's also going to add a lot of additional storage and organization to the inside of your Jeep. This is gonna be pretty unique because not a lot of other companies are going to offer a seat cover that integrates a lot of these MOLLE-style storage bags. This is going to be a very, very simple one out of three wrenches. Although, like I said, this fits everywhere from a YJ up to a JL, so this is not a year-specific. This is more of a universal fit piece, so there's a little bit more adjusting to do. But don't worry, I'm going to show exactly how to get this installed in just a second. So in the world of seat covers, you're really going to find a lot of different options, those ones that are completely universal fit seat covers that are just made out of cotton all the way up to a very vehicle-specific one that's going to be neoprene, which is generally a more expensive material. So really, high to low, all over the price range as well. What you're going to find here is something that doesn't even cover the entire seat. So it is a seat cover. It covers the seat back and the seat bottom that you're going to be sitting in. But it's not going to be as complete of a seat cover as some of the other options out there. But what it does offer is, like I said before, all of these MOLLE-style storage compartments on the back, so it is gonna be pretty unique. This provides a very military, very utilitarian styling to your Jeep that some of the other seat covers don't strive to offer. A lot of the other ones just wanna change up the look of your Jeep, add some protection, maybe even refine the interior a little bit more, where this is much more of a utility piece than anything else. Now, because this is not a complete seat cover, because it is a canvas material and not one of the more expensive materials out there like a neoprene, for instance, this is gonna be a little bit less expensive than some of the other choices that you're gonna find. This is gonna come in at right around $115 for one of these covers, and that does include all of the storage bags that you see that we have installed on the back of this. So of course, if you wanted a pair of them so you had matching, you'd be doubling that. But even at that, you're still going to be pretty low on the cost spectrum when you consider all of the other seat cover choices that you have. So I said before, this is universal fit. So there is a little bit of adjusting to do with some of these Velcro straps. But it is a very easy install, and I'm gonna show you exactly how to get it installed right now.So this is gonna be a very simple installation, as are most other seat covers that you're gonna get for your Jeep. This does have a couple of buckles and a couple of straps that you'll need to secure. And as with most things like this, as you're going through, you're gonna leave all those buckles and straps loose until everything is installed, then go back through and tighten everything down. So this comes neatly folded up. The first step is to unfold it and get it draped over the seat. So this strap here actually goes underneath the headrest. It came attached to the other side out of the box, so we did have to disconnect that. Then, we can lift the headrest up a little bit and pass the strap underneath the headrest, between the headrest and the seat, and put it through the plastic buckle in the front. And it loops back onto itself again underneath the seat here. Go ahead and tighten that down. There we go. The next strap we're going to attach is actually located underneath here. This Velcro strap gets passed between the seat back and the seat bottom, right between there. It doesn't look like there's space, but there actually is when you stick your hand in there, and then there is the other side of that Velcro on the backside here, so it goes underneath and gets pulled tight. So go ahead and pass that through now. Next, we're going to install the clips that are on the sides and the front of the seat bottom here. And these are connected to the same piece of elastic, as you can see. There's a plastic clip here. These are really designed to just clip onto the bottom springs of the seat, or really any of the seat apparatus that's under there. Of course, you don't want to clip it to anything that's going to move independently from the seat, so as you adjust the seat, these get pulled tighter or looser. So going directly underneath the seat and directly to the bottom of the seat is going to be your best bet. So you have this side here on this flap, the same setup on the other side, and the same setup on the front. So this can take a little bit of time. You really have to feed these between all of the seat track mechanism here. So just take your time with it. This is only something you're gonna have to do once. Once you're done with the elastic straps and hooks on the seat bottom, go ahead and adjust all the straps that go down the sides of the seat to make sure that the seat cover sits exactly how you want it. Once you have the seat cover attached to the seat, you can attach all of your storage bags onto the MOLLE straps. There are some straps on the side and the front of the seat cover, as well as the back. We're gonna put all of our bags on the back here because they're nice and easy to access. All right. Now, the small one, I can put next to that one right here. So if you are looking for a seat cover that's also going to add a lot of modular storage to your Jeep, I would recommend this option from Smittybilt. And you can find it right here, at extremeterrain.com.

Installation. If you've installed seat covers before, know that these are a bit more complicated to put on than most. You won't need any tools for the job, but you should set aside an hour or so, because rushing through the job could mean you don't get the seat cover on properly. Read through the included instructions before you start, and make sure you understand each step. It involves threading the different straps through specific areas around and under the seat, making it more tedious than difficult to follow.
Application. This G.E.A.R. Front Seat Cover is specifically made for all 1987-2020 Jeep Wrangler YJ, TJ, JK and JL models.
