    Review & Install Video

I'm Ryan from ExtremeTerrain.com, and this is my review of the Smittybilt Neoprene Seat Covers fitting all 2007 to 2016 JK's. These are available in your choice of four different colors, either the black you see here, charcoal, tan, or red. And they're available for all body styles and year ranges so make sure you get the ones that fit your Jeep. I like seat covers like these for a couple of different reasons. These are really good for those of you who might have an older Jeep that has a worn out seat that you want to cover up and make look new again without the cost of completely replacing the cover that's currently on the seat. These are also good for those of you who are looking to protect your seats that might be in your newer JK because seats do take a good bit of wear and tear. And finally, these are a really nice inexpensive way to completely customize the look of your interior. So if you're looking for a high-quality seat cover to do any of those three things that's really fairly priced, I think these are a nice option. These neoprene seat covers are really well built and they're designed to install really easily in the Jeep and they'll also uninstall really easily so you can throw them in the washing machine if they do end up getting dirty. Now one of the most important things about a seat cover in my mind aside from durability and how well they're going to hold up over time is how they fit. You don't want a seat cover that's going to be baggy and wrinkled and it just looks sloppy and unfinished. These are going to fit really tight, they're not going to have any wrinkles in them, and they almost look like they're factory once you get them installed on the Jeep. Now even though these are neoprene and there's some bad information out there about neoprene, these are not going to be waterproof. They are water resistant and they hold up well to wear and tear, but they're not going to be completely waterproof. Another thing about this material and really any material that any seat cover is going to be made of is that it's not going to completely resist fading. So Smittybilt and I both recommend that you treat this with a UV protectant to keep it from fading. Some colors are going to be more resistant to fading than others but the black and the red are definitely going to fade unless you take care of them. Like I said before these are designed to install really easily in the jeep even though they're a tight fit. The first step in the process is to install the seat backs, then the seat bottoms, and finally the head rest covers. These will install with a couple of different straps, some hook and loop fasteners and some buckles, all to keep them really tight. When you first take these out of the box they might have a couple of wrinkles in them from the packaging but don't worry. Those will work themselves out after you use the seat covers a couple of times. And like I said you'll definitely want to treat these with the UV protectant before you even get them installed in the jeep. The whole installation process shouldn't take you more than an hour and you won't need any tools at all. As with most products, there are certainly seat covers that are more expensive than these and ones that are less expensive. But with something like a seat cover that does take a lot of abuse, especially that drivers seat every time you get in and out of the Jeep, you're putting wear and tear on your seat cover, you're going to want to spend a little bit of money. Those bargain basement brands, they're not going to hold up well. They're going to wear out, they're not going to look good right after you install them and certainly not after your abuse. In my opinion, these are really fairly priced for the quality of the product and for how well they're going to hold up, especially if you take care of them. So if you're looking to protect your new interior, cover up an old worn out one, or just completely change the look of your jeep, this is a really nice option for a seat cover that's going to hold up well over time and isn't going to completely break the bank. So that's my review of the Smittybilt Neoprene Seat Covers fitting all 2007 to 2016 JK's that you can find right here at ExtremeTerrain.com

It says it is for 07-17, however, there is no option to choose 2017 when ordering. Should I click 2016 when ordering? Also, I know neoprene is water resistant, not waterproof, when they dry will they smell?

    • The option for the 2013-2016 Smittybilt Neoprene Seat Cover Set Front/Rear are the correct fitment for the 2017, and it just needs to be updated at this time; We apologize for the confusion. As long as they dry in a properly ventilated environment, they will dry smell-free.

Are the seat covers UV resistant? I used to have neoprene seat covers on my previous jeep and they faded after few weeks.

    RubenT

    • The Smittybilt Neoprene Front & Rear Seat Covers are not UV protected, but there is a UV protective spray that can be purchased to protect the seat covers longer. Especially if the top is down for most of the time.

      Junk

I have had these seat covers for less than 7 months and both front seat covers are tearing at the stitching. After having them only a month my new black seat covers were purple. now they are gray. I would not ever buy these seat covers again or recommend them to anyone.

      Awesome seat covers

Look great and install wasn't that bad at all. Did it all in less than an hour. Words of wisdom, when pulling the Velcro through the seat put tape over it first. I actually wedged a piece of cardboard between the seat beforehand and it worked great. Can't beat front and rear seats for this price. Very happy with the product.

      Already ripping

Had the seat covers for barely a year and the seams have already ripped on the back seat and now on the front driver seat. The clips for the bottoms also broke when trying to tighten when I first purchased them.

      Nice but instructions lacking

They are great but a little difficult to install I used a strap to put the front set back under the frame. no way you can do it with your fingers. Not the covers fault it's tight but they could have described some tricks like the one I had to figure out. Head rest could be a bit longer with a draw cord or something at the bottom. Overall a great product for the money, best I've seen for the price and they look good.

Look Great, Fit Great, Terrible Instructions

These seat covers fit perfectly, and they look good doing it. The instructions included for installation were terrible, so you're basically left to your own devices when it comes to putting the things on. The worst part by far is feeding the velcro between the seat and seat back of the front seats.

      Durable, stylish and fast shipping.

Was somewhat hesitant to get these covers at first, however after installation I could not be more pleased. The quality and style of these covers are so far outstanding and the shipping was fast! My jeep also has the tan accenting as well as tan leather seats, and surprisingly they covered them quite well. Would recommend to anyone looking to buy.

      Factory look and feel

I was skeptical about buying seat covers! After install they have a factory look and feel. Fit is very snug. Best upgrade for keeping seats clean and new. Worth every penny.

      Better Price, Same Effect

I ordered another brand that was more expensive, only when it arrived to find the color was off considerably. So when I returned it, I found this one for a lot cheaper and the specs on them didn't seem that far different. When they arrived, they were actually very much the same product (less the off-color panel- I just went with basic black on the second round). While there were some differences (the headrest covers on this product do not have a fastener tab, and the straps on this product were actually BETTER than the straps on the more expensive product), the fit was good, the look was great, and they did what I wanted them to do: protect my seats from kids, the dog, and the elements. I indicated it took me the "afternoon" to install them- it too more than an hour, but not quite 2.5. Likewise: I have heard some great tips- put tape over the velcro so they don't grab the seats when you try to push the tabs through, and use something rigid to push them through- it is really tight. I took a demolition claw, duct taped over the tool end to cover up any sharp edges, and took my time. Went through like a champ. Definitely recommend this product.

Covers are great but snaps suck

I put my seat covers on and they seem real comfortable. However, the connector clips are poorly made and when pulling the strap tight the clips pops off. Therefore, one is not able to create “snug” fit. Now don’t get me wrong, the covers hug the seat really good. I’m just disappointed I can’t get them tighter due to the snaps.

These are great. They should have changed the velcro around on the actual seat cover because it was difficult to get it on. Once I did, they are awesome. Took about 2 hrs for front and back covers.

      Great Fit

I love my seat covers. They were a tad bit difficult to put on but that's because they fit so snug onto the seats. I love them because you cant really tell that you have seat covers on. The material is great quality. I would definitely purchase again!

Comfortable and not very difficult to put on.

I like the seat covers, the instructions were terrible so I googled how to put them on and there were severa you tube videos I watched. To include watching the videos it only took me a little more than a half hour to put on both the front and rear seat covers.
