      Description

Key Features. If the stock mirrors on your Jeep are broken or looking a little on the rough side, these Factory Replacement Side Mirrors from Smittybilt are a great solution. Sold as a pair, they match the CJ Styling of the original equipment, so you can preserve the look and feel of your Jeep, instead of going with some wild aftermarket customization. Each mirror is made to last, plus adjusts manually with ease, so you can depend on them to work reliably on any road or trail.

Construction. Both Smittybilt Factory Replacement Side Mirrors feature steel housings, which is great for durability. They're painted black to keep with the stock look, while the glass is flat and the same dimensions as the OE equipment. The stock hardware is used for mounting each mirror housing. You will need to order the Smittybilt Windshield Hinge part number 7603 for proper fitment.

Installation. Installation of these Smittybilt Factory Replacement Side Mirrors is advanced. You'll need to set aside at least an hour to two hours, maybe more, to get the job done all the way. It's recommended you install the Smittybilt Windshield Hinge, part number 7603, for a suitable mounting location for both mirrors. A screwdriver, socket wrench and drill are necessary for this job.

Application. These Smittybilt Factory Replacement Side Mirrors are designed specifically for 1987-1995 Jeep Wranglers (YJ).

2 1992 Wrangler - JohnM Installation Time: Afternoon

        Meh....

Stylish with or w/o door, and decent field of view, however the hinge that mates the mounting brackets to the mirror post feels like it never tightens up and vibrates out of place over time, then there’s the ball and socket joint on the mirror. You just can’t seem to get in the right place, they are either to tight and can’t adjust them or to loose and they flop around. Then there’s the the passenger side mirror, I’m not sure who ever designed them was home that day, because it sits at such and odd angle, so I cut the old bolt hole off and redrilled it for a better angle

2 1994 Wrangler - DavidK Installation Time: Full Day

        Not even close!!!

With extensive rework and by that I mean some grinding, drilling and painting, not to mention minor re-bending for the proper angle to be achieved of the mount brackets in relation to the plastic mirror arms. And that brings me to another complaint, one of the mirror arms wasn't even drilled for the bolt, I had to match drill it to the other mirror arm. Chinese QC let one get by I guess, anyway with all the extra fabrication and redo it has been an entire day doing mirrors, what should have been two hours tops is taking all day and I'm a skilled fabricator, so lots of luck to the guy who is something other than, if you know what I mean.

4 1989 Wrangler - EugeneC Installation Time: Less than 1 Hour

Functional, legal, looks good, cheap to replace

Mirrors are good and I like the simple, functional style, only reasons for 4 stars is the passenger side mirror is hard to see out, to get it where I can back it hides almost half the mirror face behind the windshield frame.

        2 1993 Wrangler - BrianW

        Not direct fit on yj

The mirrors are designed to bolt directly to aftermarket window hinges. If you have stock window hinges they will not bolt on without drilling extra holes and considerable fit issues.

3 1992 Wrangler - ColeJ Installation Time: Less than 1 Hour

        Meh

I don't know why the arms are different but passenger side is too short and difficult to even see past the front windshield no matter how I adjust.

        1 1994 Wrangler - Mitchellb

        Not for yj

Doesn't fit yj jeeps without replacing the windshield hinges. Also the mirrors are moot the same. One is way more bent and it looks terrible. Disappointed

2 1993 Wrangler - Disappointedcustomer Installation Time: Weekend

        They really messed up

One mirror arm is shorter and bent crooked. I don't think they've ever USED there own product because you can not see out of the shorter one. It's suppose To bed outward and in to allow you to see.'it either bends down or up making it impossible to use. We had to drill our own holes and mount it properly so we could see. Also, the installation took two days because we had ran into one problem after another and ended up taking our whole dash board off just to hook up mirrors. This should have been a job that lasted a couple hours at most.

I have a relocation bracket placed under windshield and the factory mirrors don't stick it far enough for me to see anything. How long is the mirror arm on this mirror? Also, what is the width of the spacer on your mirror that is between your mounting bracket? Maybe I can mount the mirror in the bracket I already have on my Jeep.

      • The Smittybilt Factory Replacement Black Side Mirrors will have an approximately 12" long mirror arm. These will not work with any mounts designed for factory mirrors.

I've twice replaced my mirrors with the kind that fasten to the door and have a rubber boot between mirror and bracket. They vibrate into an un-usable position in about 2 minutes. Do these stay put??? Thanks! 1 answer
