Specs. The Transfer Case Lowering Kit by Rugged Ridge is a quick, effective way to lower your Wrangler's transfer case after a suspension lift without devastating your wallet. The black color helps this modification blend in, while dropping your transfer case a bit avoids a lot of potentially expensive drivetrain damage, while also making your ride much more comfortable by getting rid of the vibration and the shaking steering wheel you might otherwise have to put up with.

Construction. Rugged Ridge's Transfer Case Lowering Kit includes six hard plastic spacers which are the core of the system. 12 bolts are provided, including 6 made to SAE measurements and 6 made to metric measurements. This kit is bolt-on and very easy to install, requiring no additional drilling in order to fit. Rugged Ridge covers this item with a 5 year limited warranty.

Application. Fits 1987-2006 Wrangler YJ and TJ models.

Is this the best fit for 2.5 lift or is there a better idea 2001 jeep TJ

        • The Rugged Ridge Transfer Case Lowering Kit will be a great option for your 2001 TJ with a 2.5" lift. If you off road often you may want to consider an SYE (slip yoke eliminator) to help get more clearance.

I installed the transfer lowering kit after I did the 2" lift on my 1990 wrangler. Finally got a chance to take it out and second and fourth gear are hard to get into and they pop out very easily. Any idea what it might be. Thank You

        • We recommend checking anywhere where the shifter may be binding or coming into contact with any parts of the body.

Do I need anything else when installing this kit? What about the linkage to the 4 wheel drive lever? Thank you

        • No additional components are required to install the Rugged Ridge Transfer Case Lowering Kit. The linkage for the transfer case shift lever is only required if a body lift was also performed.

I put in a simple 1 inch body lift on my '03 Jeep Wrangler TJ with 1 inch motor mounts. I now have driveline vibrations. Will this work for a 1 inch body lift?

        • It is recommended to use this kit with at least a 2 inch suspension lift. You would not have enough clearance with just a 1 inch body lift.

            Perfect fit

Perfect spacing to eliminate vibrations on a 3 inch lift and not mess up 4wd linkage. I can still get into 4 low on my 06 TJ.

            Fit Great

The vibration coming from the drive shaft was silenced after the T-Case was lowered. Worked very well and fit perfectly.

Very easy to install but all parts did not come

It was an easy installment. But the kit only came with 3 washers. I had to go buy some washers to complete the install.

            Drop bracket

Works great, too the vibration out of Jeep and put the rear driveshaft back to the correct angle after the 2 1/2" lift. Just current the bolts every couple days for first week or so, you'll be able to tighten them up more. I think a steel bracket would eliminate having to do that.

My buddy bought the 2.5 Rough Country lift kit and did not want to spend the extra $40.00 for this hardware. Of course, his Jeep was not driving correctly. You have to get transfer case hardware if you want to lift your Jeep properly.

            Transfer Case Lowering kit

Very easy to install took me about half hour. Put a 2" lift on 1990 wrangler and kit took the little vibration out.

            U-bolts too big

I love the lift and ride this kit provides. But this is the second one I’ve done and again the front smaller u-bolts were the wrong size. Put the right parts in this kit and easily be a 5-star kit.

            Got rid of vibes

This helped to get rid of some slight driveline vibrations after lifting the Jeep a bit. It's only a temporary fix until I get the SYE installed.

            No more vibration

This is a 1” drop kit and it got rid of the drive line vibration that I had. Well worth the money.

            Driveline vibration fix!

Installed a 2.5 inch rough country lift kit and went for a test drive. The Jeep had major vibration in the driveline. And was told this was the answer to my problem! Very simple installation. Unbolt the old and bolt in the new. Did it by myself in a hour but would be easier with 2

            Good product

I like how 2 sets of bolts are included to accommodate 2 thread patterns. The black spacers and bolts were my preference to blend in. Well made. I installed a 2” lift on a 2005 wrangler and had driveline vibrations, this resolved my issue.

            2004 TJ T Case Drop

I had installed the 3.25" suspension lift and had some driveline vibes at 45 to 50 mph. I put this drop on and it helped a lot. It is driveable now without as much vibration. I will upgrade to a SYE and a CV shaft when I get time. For 2003-2006 use the metric bolts. The kit contains SAE and metric bolts. No installation issues at all.

            Simple Effective

Not a complicated install, just one to take your time on. Removing more bolts than you have to will make the skid plate hard to realign. Other than that, took me less than 30 minutes from start to finish. The appearance isn't perfect, but for just a 2.5" lift, it's a cheap stop-gap to eliminate driveline vibration until a slip yoke eliminator and CV driveshaft can be installed.

            Simple cost effective solution

Simple product, was more worried about removing all hardware, takes about 15 minutes to install and easily solves what can be a major problem for small lifts.

Helped my vibration issue after 2.5" lift

Purchased this after installing 2.5" RC suspension lift. The lift caused a major vibration between 35-50 MPH. Initial result is that the vibration is almost completely gone. Quick and easy install especially if you have access to a car lift. Without the lift it would still be an extremely easy install with minimal experience needed.

            The simplest install

Literally replace 6 screws and you're done, my jeep had a rusted out nut so I used longer and larger bolts but thats not this kits fault and the kit was excellent.

            trans case lowering kit

Bought this to eliminate vibration after lift kit, this is a universal kit. did not like the shifting after install feels really restrictive. I wish the spacers were spot faced to accommodate the nutsert on the frame. didn't like the Allen screws. other than that it does what it is meant to do
