Key Features. Ditch your borken down or boring mirrors for these retro-cool replacements from Rugged Ridge. The CJ-style Side Mirror Kit comes with to mirrors, arms and mounting hardware. Installation is simple and doesn't take any drilling. A polished stainless steel finish looks great and is durable, which is perfect for taking your Jeep through all kidns of environments. With the passenger mirror, drivers look through the corner of the windshield, a setup that's convenient but can take a little adjustment at first.

Construction. Since the mirror caps, arms and mounts areall made of stainless steel, you don't have to worry about rust or other corrosion building up, especially if you keep the assemblies mostly clean. A polished finish looks great and can be protected by applying a thin coat of wax ever so often. The mirrors are square and match the look and size from the old CJs. All mounting hardware is included. You can install the mirrors on the windshield hinges, or slap on some aftermarket Kentrol hinges.

Installation. Installation is simple and requires basic tools like a socket wrench. You don't need to drill or tap any new mounting points, because the setup uses the windshield hinge bolt holes as anchor points. Once you figure out how to orient the mirror assemblies, the job consists of attachign and tightening the included hardware so the mirrors don't jiggle. The job shouldn't take more than an hour to complete.

Application. Rugged Ridge has designed this CJ-style Side Mirror Kit to work with all 1987-1995 Jeep Wranglers (YJ).

Really nice quality mirrors, however, being new to the Jeep culture, I was not aware that the mounting screws on the window hinges are in fact, secured behind the dash with a nut, the access of which is problematic, at best. Anyone with big hands is going to find it difficult to access these nuts. That being said, I question whether it is the best idea to secure a simple mirror to a structural (lower window hinge) component. I have not yet installed said mirrors, and I'm thinking of fabricating some custom (s.s.) foundations that will mount to the upper window hinge, perhaps secured with studs welded to the backside and the mirrors then wing-nutted to the studs, as this will provide a "quick-disconnect" feature as well. Nice mirrors but, not well thought-through.
