Construction. The smoked acrylic Rugged Ridge uses to make this Cowl Vent Scoop is designed to be durable. It can handle being left out in the elements, including harsh sunlight and freezing temperatures, without cracking or failing in other ways. Automotive grade double sided tape comes with the scoop, which is also designed to maintain its adhesion in varying temperatures and while being exposed to debris or moisture.

Installation. You don't need any tools or to make modifications to your Jeep to install the Cowl Vent Scoop. The installation process should take less than an hour of your time, and can be performed by just about anyone. You do need to wash the area around the vent thoroughly, removing any dirt or other debris so the tape can adhere properly. Dry the area completely as well, using a microfiber towel so you don't leave behind lint. You should dry fit the scoop first, so you know exactly how you want to position it. Peel off the protective film from the tape and press the scoop in to place, holding it there firmly for at least 30 seconds. Take extra care with the scoop for the first 24 hours to ensure proper adhesion.

Application. The Rugged Ridge Cowl Vent Scoop is designed to fit on 1987-1995 Jeep Wrangler YJ and 1998-2006 Jeep Wrangler TJ models. It is not compatible with 1997 Jeep Wrangler TJ models.
