Will this rack work with the Smittybilt Overlander RTT and the Smittybilt awning? Is so, is there anything additional I would need for this setup; crossbars, adapter kit, etc..? Thx!

    • You will need crossbars  J103914 to mount the tent. As for the awning you would need to make a mount to allow you to use the ARB awning with this rack.

Sherpa Rack for 2014 JK 2DR

Install is easy and straight forward, wrinkle coating feels tough and good quality. After several adjustments the driver's side main rail tube running front to back still is no where close to level, I'll have to bend or modify in some way to make it not "dip" where it bolts to the front lightbar assembly. Make sure to have black RTV/silicone on hand for the install to weather-proof it.

      April 2017 installation

Installation was super easy. I deviated from the directions and started with the rear brackets which catch the same bolts as the rear bumper; it took a few minute to figure out how these brackets slide into position with no cutting or trimmming. Everything fit perfectly. Wind noise was the one concern/question I had about making this purchase but even with my Thule cross bars, the noise is minimal (I've got the hard top). Total installation time was about 1.5 hours. The never seize and silicon are not included in the packet.

      Definately worth it!

I have had this on for about a week now, and i am thoroughly loving it! It has such an incredible look on my baby, and although i got looks before, now i get even more! It is very sturdy, and strong. Although i have aftermarket fenders, I was able to make it work quite well. Remember to order your crossbars though, as it does not come with those. I am so very pleased - holds my paddle boards quite well!

      Stout Rack

I recently bought the Sherpa Rack for my 2012 JK 2 door and installation was a breeze. The rack is very sturdy and I like the fact that you can remove the whole rear section with just a couple of bolts if you chose to and leave the front section on to serve as a light bar. I will warn you to expect significant increases in wind noise with the full rack on. Even more as you add things like yakama bars etc. It is definately a nice looking system and I would recommend the Sherpa Rack to anyone considering a carrying system for their JK.
