Hey, guys, it's Sara with extremeterrain.com, and today we have a review and install of the RedRock 4x4 OEM Style Side Step Bars, fitting your '18 and newer Jeep Wrangler 2-Door. These are perfect for the Jeep owner who's looking to add the convenience of a step to their Jeep and wants an OE running board style step with a ton of stepping surface. These running boards feature a one-piece design with a wide step that runs the length of your Jeep for ease of entry. They feature a single stepping platform that tapers from 6 inches wide at the front to 5 inches wide at the back, giving you more stepping surface than most other options. They feature a durable ABS plastic construction with a finish that matches the rest of your exterior plastics. So, as far as price goes, these come in at around $250 for the pair, making them one of the more budget-friendly options for your Jeep. And for your money you are getting a running board style step with more stepping surface and an OE design. And as far as the install goes I'm giving this one a one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter. It does feature a direct bolt-up installation with no modification required and can be done within one hour. So, with that said, let's check out our install. For this install we used an electric ratchet but a hand ratchet will work just fine. You will also need 10-millimeter and 13-millimeter sockets. All right, so the first step in our install is to grab your brackets and we're gonna get them lined up on the Jeep. There's two studs here on these brackets. What you're gonna do is line them up with the holes in the pinch weld here. Repeat that for the other bracket. Next up, grab the included hardware and thread it over top of the studs. Grab a 10-millimeter socket and ratchet and tighten it down. Repeat that with your other stud. And finally, there's one bolt towards the inside of the bracket, it may be a little bit hard to see, we're using the larger bolt with a washer and a lock washer, go ahead and thread it in to the body of the Jeep. Then grab a 13-millimeter socket and go ahead and tighten it down. Now you're gonna repeat that for the other bracket. It might be a little bit hard to see the far stud, but go ahead and thread the nut on there as well. Grab your 10-millimeter socket and tighten these down. Now, using your larger hardware again with a washer and lock washer, go ahead and thread it into the body of the Jeep. And with your 13-millimeter socket, tighten it down.At this point, we can set the step in place on top of the brackets. Now, these are side specific, we're working on the driver side. So, you want the step with a larger plastic portion up front. Go ahead and line it up to your brackets. Now we can go underneath and tighten it down. At this point you can grab the leftover hardware, it has a lock washer and a washer already on it, thread it into the bottom of the step. Repeat that for the rest of the other bolts. There should be two on each side of this bracket, in total four for each bracket. Now you can grab your 10-millimeter socket and tighten them down. Repeat that on your other bracket. Grab your 10-millimeter socket and tighten them down. All right, now that you have your driver side installed, you'll repeat all of those steps for your passenger side. And then that is going to do it for the review and install of these steps. And remember for all things Jeep keep it at extremeterrain.com.
