Hi, guys. So today, we're checking out the RedRock 4x4 Apocalypse Grille, fitting all 2007 to 2018 JK Wranglers. Now, one of the easiest and probably one of the most affordable ways to switch up the front end aesthetic of your Jeep is to add a grille, and this option by RedRock is going to do just that. Now, this is obviously going to completely switch it up from the factory styling with a very angular construction and an angry eye style look, which is great for you guys out there who are a fan of that more aggressive styling. Now, this is also going to be pretty functional considering that we have a mesh cutout on either side, we have some slotting down at the bottom, and we have some mesh inserts on either side right next to the turn signal. That's gonna allow for a lot more airflow, which will keep your engine running cooler and more efficiently, which is great if you live in a hotter climate or you're constantly driving your Jeep, whether that's daily driving or you're out on the trail. Not to mention, this is completely customizable considering that the material that this is will be paintable. So you can keep it this matte black as you see here or you can paint it to your factory color code or whatever color scheme that you have going on on your Wrangler. So I do like the fact that you can kind of switch it up from that matte black if you want to do that. Now, with that being said, again, this is going to completely switch up the styling and is going to be very unique in comparison to some other choices. Now, this is going to come in at roughly $150, so this will be more affordable than some of the other choices that you will see on the page. Now, choosing a grille really comes down to your personal preference in styling. This has a little bit more going on with it than some other choices on the page, which is great if you are a fan of that more unique and custom look in comparison to some of the more simplistic choices. Now, some other more expensive options are usually just going to have a couple more extra bells and whistles, so they may include marker lighting, they may include LED lights or LED light bar, but you don't necessarily need that. You're just looking for a standout look and a little bit of functionality in the meantime, this is going to be right up your alley, again. Now, when it comes to install, I'm gonna give this a one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter. It's very easy to get on to your JK in probably an hour with some very basic hand tools. So, speaking of that install, let's jump into that right now.The tools that I used for my install were a pop clip removal tool or a panel removal tool and a flathead screwdriver. So the first step to taking off our grille is to remove the six pop clips up top. Now, I'm gonna use a clip removal tool. You could also use a flathead screwdriver. I just recommend to be a little bit careful with a flathead screwdriver so you don't mess up the paint. But we can go ahead and take those off so we can remove our grille. Then, we can disconnect our wiring harness for our turn signals, so we just have to push down on that clip and pull back. We can do the same thing on the other side. So, after everything is unplugged and the clips are out, what we can do is just give our grille a good tug backwards, and it will come right out.So, as you can see, one of our retainer clips is still stuck in there. We do need to remove that to make sure that our new ones will fit in properly. So I just like to take a screwdriver and compress that, and it should pop right out.So, now that we have the grille off, we do need to swap over our turn signals into our new grille. So I'm gonna take a flathead screwdriver, and we're gonna pop those out of place. They're only held in by two tabs, but it is a little bit helpful to have a flathead on hand. So, what we're going to do is just push in these tabs and push down on our fog light or our turn signal, because it's going to push right out of the front of our grille. Just like that. Very simple. So, if you press on this tab, kind of push down, the same thing for the other one, it'll push right out the front. So, before we hop into the install, I do want to stop down and tell you guys a little bit more about this new RedRock grille, how it compares to the factory, and show you some of the similarities and differences between the two. Now, as you can tell, this is going to be a big change from our factory grille. This is going to have some very aggressive styling to it that our factory grille does not have. So, just as a brief overview, our factory grille is made up of plastic material. It's also gonna have those iconic seven slots in the middle, it's gonna have that Jeep logo up at the top, and considering that I have the Sahara grille on the table, it's going to have those factory inserts. Now, moving over to this new option by RedRock, you're not getting any of this. You will still have the mounts for your turn signals, but really that's the only thing that's going to stay the same. Now, we're going to have a very angular design here down at the bottom, as well as the top. We're going to have that angry style brow if you are a fan of the angry eye look. Now, this is also going to have some mesh in the middle, you're going to have some inserts down at the bottom, and we're also going to have two mesh inserts down on either side next to our turn signal. Now, those are all going to provide really good airflow to your AC condenser and your radiator, so this is going to provide some functionality and not necessarily just style. However, overall, this is going to add a more aggressive and dynamic look to the front end of the Jeep and is gonna have that apocalypse style aesthetic, as it says in the name. So, what do you say we go ahead and prep this grille so we can get it installed on our JK?So, what we can do now is install our seal for the top of the grille. I'm just going to peel the backing off of our 3M tape here, and then we can center this and give it a good press. I'm gonna try to make sure it's as even as possible. All right. Then we can install our turn signals down at the bottom. Now, these are just going to press into place. They are going to be side specific, so make sure that you're aware of that. What we can do next is take our retainer clips and install them on the mounts down at the bottom. We're going to have four down at the bottom and one on either side, right above our turn signal, and these just press on. Now, we're ready to mount our grille up.What we can do is line up the mounting locations at the front as well as the bottom. For those retainer clips, we're going to give it a good push. Then we can take our factory style clips and pop those into place. So, after all the clips are in, we can plug in our turn signals. So we can grab our plug, clip that in, and we can do the same thing on the other side. After that, we can close up our hood, and we'll be all set to go.So, that is going to wrap it up for my review and install.
