These RedRock 4x4 Euro Style tail light guards in black are for those of you that have a 2007 to 2018 JK that are looking for an accent piece that's going to change up the look of your Jeep a little bit and also is going to add a little bit of protection to your tail lights. This is gonna be a nice, easy one out of three wrench installation and we're gonna walk you through that in just a second. So a taillight guard like this, in my opinion, is really more of an aesthetic modification than anything else. This is going to provide more of that Safari off-road styling and whether you're using it as a standalone piece or in conjunction with other light guards on your Jeep, this is going to definitely give you more of that look. This is also going to provide a little bit of protection. It's really going to be more of just some light protection against scratching. In fact, some people would say that by having a guard here, if something does make contact with the guard, it can actually transfer the impact from the guard into the body of the Jeep instead of just breaking the tail light, which is a much more expensive repair, so there are those two schools of thought there. If you like the look of this, if you think it adds protection, or you're not looking for the protection but you do like the look, this is going to be a very nice option. This is going to be a steel light guard covered in a gloss black powder coat finish so it is going to play nicely off of a lot of the matte plastic accents that you have on your Jeep right out of the factory and as I said before, as a standalone piece or as part of the kit, this does provide a pretty nice look to it. This is also going to be a very fairly-priced light guard in my opinion. This is going to come in at right around that $40 mark. There are gonna be some more expensive options out there, some of those are going to have more complex designs or are possibly made out of a higher end material like stainless steel. Those can be a little bit more pricey but again, for what you have here, a steel light guard, powder coat finish, I think $40 is a pretty fair price. So let's go ahead and show you how to get these installed. So as I mentioned before, this is gonna be a very, very simple installation. All you have to do is remove the four Phillips head screws from your tail light and install the new hardware that comes with your tail light cover, of course, with the cover as well. In order to remove the screws and reinstall them, we're going to be using an impact with a number two Phillips bit installed on it. You can use a regular screwdriver or really anything that you would like to get this on and off. If you are gonna use an impact, especially a larger one like we are, a 3/8 drive, do be very, very careful because you're threading these screws into plastic and it can be very easy to strip them so be very easy on the trigger if you do decide to use an impact. So we're gonna go ahead and remove these Phillips head screws first. So you can go ahead and set that factory hardware aside. Hang on to it in case you ever do decide to remove these tail light guards but you're not gonna be using them for the installation. They come with some new longer screws and spacers. So first things first, figure out which side is the left and which side is the right. This is going to be the driver's side for us and you can see that when it's held in this orientation, the top is a little bit wider than the bottom. That's not all that important. You can really just hold the guard up to the tail light, see which side fits which one better. It's gonna be very, very apparent. Then you'll use the hardware that's included and the spacers to get it attached on to the tail light. So go ahead and put one of the new longer screws through the tail light guard and put one of the spacers on the other side of that screw and then we'll just get this started just finger tight into the tail light. And you wanna leave that extra loose because you are going to have to get the other spacers between the tail light and the tail light guard so this is gonna take two hands. Screw goes through the guard, then through the spacer, and then threads into the tail light. Repeat the same process for the bottom. Now we'll repeat the same process on the other side. So if you are looking to change up the look of the rear of your Jeep and also add a little bit of protection to your tail lights, I would recommend this option from RedRock 4x4 and you can find them right here at extremeterrain.com.
