I'm Ryan from extremeterrain.com, and this is my review and installation of the Rear Seat Recline kit, fitting all 2007 and up 4-door JKs. This is a product specifically designed for the JK Unlimited, those of you with the four-door JK, not for those of you with the two-door. Today we're gonna walk you through the installation of this kit, which is a very simple one out of three wrenches. These will pop right in place without the need to drill or cut anything at all. We're also gonna talk you through the construction and a few of the other features of this reclining kit. If you've ridden in the backseat of a four-door JK for any period of time, but especially for a long time, you might find that the straight up and down seating position is a little bit uncomfortable. So this recline kit is designed to give a little bit of pitch to not only the seat back, but the part that you sit on as well. You'll get about two and a half inches of lean out of this kit. Now, no, these spacers are not two and a half inches tall, but when you measure up at the headrest, you do get about two and a half inches of tilt from this kit. It is very easy to install, and it'll certainly be something that your backseat passengers will appreciate. These spacers are made of a material called Delrin. Delrin is a very lightweight and very strong plastic material. These are not metal. They're not aluminum or steel. These are actually a plastic material, but it is very, very strong. I would not worry about the strength of these at all. For the spaces that you put the four larger spacers, you do have four factory-style bolts that are a little bit longer that are gonna go in place of your factory bolts. Where you're only putting the smaller spacers here, you are gonna be able to get away with factory bolts, so you don't need additional bolts for that. The installation process, as I said, is pretty easy, because as you can see everything is going to bolt right in place, no major modifications necessary. And as I said before, it is a very simple one out of three wrench installation, although it may take you a little bit over an hour to get it done. The first step is to start at the rear of your seats, and you're going to loosen the bolts that are holding the seats in from the back. Do not remove those bolts, just loosen them so you have a little bit of play. Then you'll move around to the front of the Jeep, removing all four of the bolts that are holding the seat fronts in place. Then you'll flip the seats up out of the way, and the instructions recommend that you actually use the seatbelts to hold the seat bottoms up out of your way, which is a really good idea. From there, there are three additional bolts that you'll need to completely remove to get these three spacers in place. Now, those bolts are going to be very, very tight. An impact wrench will certainly make this a lot easier, whether it be pneumatic or electric, or you'll just have to have a large breaker bar and use a little bit of muscle. Once you get these three spacers placed underneath of the brackets between the floor and the seat bracket, you'll re-install your factory bolts. Make sure you get those torqued down nice and tight, and then move onto those four bolts that you completely removed from the front of the seats. Flip the seat bottoms back down with the brackets underneath of them, and install your new bolts. Now, you are gonna have to get these very tight. You're actually going to be compressing the washer a little bit, so again, an impact will definitely make this easier, but a large breaker bar and some muscle will work as well. As far as specialty tools, if you have access to that impact, make sure you have it on hand. If not, a large breaker bar. Other than that, you won't need anything special, just a little bit of time. This kit I think is appropriately priced. I think that the fact that they used Delrin instead of aluminum or steel helps to keep the cost down a little bit. You're still getting some very high-quality, very high-strength OE-style bolts that replace the shorter factory ones. It's a complete kit, it does the job, and it does it for around 60 bucks, which I don't think is a bad deal. So, if you wanna make those long rides a little bit more comfortable for those rear seat passengers in your Unlimited JK, this rear seat incline kit is a really nice addition. So, that's my review of the Rear Seat Recline kit fitting all 2007 and up JK Unlimiteds, that you find right here at extremeterrain.com.
