I'm Ryan from ExtremeTerrain.com and this is my review of the Pypes Street Pro dual outlet catback exhaust, fitting all 2007 to 2016 JKs. This system's available for both the two door and the four door body styles and it's available with a black muffler and tips or a silver muffler with polished tips. This is for those of you who want a little bit more volume and a little lower tone out of your exhaust and also want a bit more of a visual impact from having a dual outlet exhaust with the optional black muffler and tips. Now, the sound that comes out of your exhaust is definitely going to depend on what year your Jeep is, because that will determine whether you have the 3.8 liter or the 3.6 liter. But, no matter which engine you have, getting rid of the resonator with this catback system will definitely change the sound of your exhaust. Pypes does a really nice job of putting together a complete kit all at a really reasonable price. This system is built from two and a half inch 304 stainless pipe that is mandrel bent, however I wouldn't expect to get a ton more flow out of this system, because there is one area that it gets crushed down a good bit to provide clearance for installation. The fact that this is 304 stainless means it's going to hold up pretty well, however it is going to be a little bit more susceptible to surface rust than say, a 409 system that would be more expensive. Because this is designed specifically for your two or four door Wrangler, it'll fit right out of the box without the need to cut any of the piping. This will include all of the hangers, hardware and clamps necessary to get it installed, and the muffler that's included is the Street Pro dual outlet muffler in your choice of black or silver with matching tips. Now if you're somebody who goes offroad a lot and you want a little bit more exhaust volume and a lower note, maybe you don't want to go with this system because you do have a lot of extra piping with the dual outlet exhaust out back that can just get crushed or hung up on different trail obstacles. If you're somebody who goes offroad a lot but you want the benefits of a catback system, I would recommend taking a look at Pypes' high clearance system. Now like with any exhaust work, how quickly and easily things go will definitely depend on how rusty your factory system is. I would recommend soaking all of your factory clamps and bolts in a good penetrating oil well before you get started with this job. Once you get your factory system removed, which is a pretty easy process, especially if you have a large pry bar on hand to remove those factory rubber hangers, then you can get to installing your new system. You will start from the front with your new midpipe, then install the tail pipe and your muffler and tips. Once you have everything installed, you can work your way back through, tightening all of the clamps and making sure you have everything positioned exactly where you want it. The whole process could take as little as an hour if your factory system isn't that rusty or if you do a good job lubricating everything ahead of time. And you won't need any specialty tools, just a socket set and a good pry bar for those hangers. This system is really priced in the middle of the road for comparable catback systems that have a dual outlet exhaust, and if you're judging the value and the price of this system off of how straight and consistent the welds are or how good a job they did cleaning up the splatter before they powder coated the muffler, maybe you wouldn't put this at the top of the list. But, if you're looking to save a couple of dollars and you want a system that is complete and installs easily, I think this is a really nice way to go. So if you're looking for an exhaust system to give you that lower, louder exhaust note, in part by removing that factory resonator for those of you with newer Jeeps, this is a really nice system that's moderately priced, really complete and easy to install. So that's my review of the Pypes Street Pro dual outlet catback exhaust fitting all 2007 to 2016 JKs, that you can find right here at ExtremeTerrain.com.

What I expected after reading the reviews.
A little resonating at 2200 rpm but with the manual transmission I can avoid that, nice sound otherwise.Helpful (1)

Great look, great sound
Installation couldn’t have been easier. I had my rusted up muffler off and this one on in under two hours. The sound is great without being obnoxious. I installed this days after installing the RedRock cold air intake and throttle body spacer which has opened up the breathing for the engine. It drives much better and I’ve seen a small climb in the mpg’s in Atlanta city traffic. Would highly recommend.Helpful (6)

Got this set up for my 16 year old. Once installed, which was easy, he started her up and she growled. My son was very happy. I was too because it wasn't obnoxious. It was just under redneck. Although the black has turned on the muffler itself, the tips and tubes leading to the tips are still black after 3 or 4 months.Helpful (5)

The fitment was a little lousy. The passenger side hanger had to be cut, shortened and welded to sit level. The whole assembly was also slightly off center. The exhaust is really loud, in fact its so loud it drowns out my 12” subwoofer. Im pleased with the setup overall. If you want loud exhaust look no further.Helpful (7)

The exhaust is alright in my opinion. Installation is straight forward and takes a few hours. The drone was almost unbearable upon completion. Doors off, top off, doors on, top on...still loud inside. I added a few heavier clamps that helped reduce the noise to where its tolerable. Outside the sound is great! Makes the 3.8 sound like it's got some muscle. One other complaint is that the black powder coat on the muffler has already completely burnt off and I've had to use high heat paint in well under 1,000 miles on the exhaust. Not all that impressed, but that's what you get for the cost.Helpful (6)
Is this muffler carb or California smog complient?
The Pypes Black Street Pro Dual Outlet Cat-Back Exhaust is installed after all emissions control devices, so it will not be subject to smog testing. This catback will comply with most local vehicle noise codes, but you should check local laws and regulations to ensure this will be ok in your specific region.
Does it need an exhaust spacer if the Jeep is lifted??
Thank you for your question! Yes, you will need an exhaust spacer if your Jeep is newer than 2012 and has over a 2.5 inch lift without an aftermarket front driveshaft.
Will this fit a 09 rhd? I know some things are specific.
We do apologize but we have not tested this item on any RHD models.
Does this exhaust come with dual exhaust tips? Because in the video, it did not show it did.
This Pypes Black Street Pro Dual Outlet Cat-Back Exhaust is a Dual Outlet and unfortunately does not have the option of a Dual Tip.
Does this system fit on only a 4 door? I have a 2 door would this system fit? If not do they make one for a 2 door?
Hello, we do have one for the 2 Door model, which you can find here: http://www.extremeterrain.com/pypes-street-pro-dual-catback-jk-sjj17sb.html
With the Pypes Black Street Pro Dual Outlet Cat-Back Exhaust (07-17 Wrangler JK 4 Door) we highly recommend speaking to the general manager and shop manager of your specific Jeep dealership on whether aftermarket parts will void warranty, and if so which ones.
