The OR-Fab Front Winch Bumper with Stinger is for those of you that have a 1997 to 2006 TJ that are looking for a stubby front bumper that's going to add some style and some function to the front of your Jeep. This is gonna be a nice, easy one-out-of-three wrenches for the installation, and we're gonna show you how to get it done in just a second.So, like I said, a lot of you are gonna be purchasing an aftermarket front bumper for either function and/or styling, and this bumper is going to provide both. It's going to be a nice stubby bumper, which does give you a different look to your Jeep. It also adds some functionality. It also adds some recovery points: the stinger, the winch mount, a couple of jacking points on the corner here. A lot of different features, some that we'll talk a little bit more about in just a second. So if you are looking for a bumper that's gonna be shorter than the factory one, add a bunch of features, and change up the look of your Jeep, I do like this option for you. But you do have to keep in mind that this is a hand-crafted, made-in-the-USA bumper, so it is going to be a little bit more expensive than some of the other models out there, some of which are going to have the same or even more features than this one does. So you are paying a little bit of a premium because it is handmade, it is made in the USA. This one comes in at right around $450. Now, I'm not saying that's a bad price. It is a very well-built bumper, it does have some really nice features, and it is very, very sturdy. However, if you are on a little bit of a budget and you're just looking for the most features for the cost, there are probably some better bangs for the buck out there.So, like I said, this is a pretty easy bumper to install on your Jeep, one-out-of-three wrenches. Let me show you how to do it.For this install, we used the 10-millimeter socket and a 19-millimeter socket. We also used a 6-inch extension, all driven by our 3/8ths electric impact. So, like I said, this is gonna be a very simple one-out-of-three-wrench installation. Of course, the first step is going to be removing our factory bumper. Now, we have hardware in all of the factory holes, but we don't have factory hardware on our TJ. This thing has been through a lot, had a lot of bumpers put on and taken back off again. But the process is going to be pretty much the same for you. You're just going to have some Torx head bolts here, where I have Hex head bolts. So there are gonna be two bolts that go through the bumper into the top of the frame rail, and one that goes into the bottom of the frame rail, and that's on either side for a total of six bolts. Once those six bolts are removed, you can simply grab the bumper and pull it off the Jeep. All those bolts are removed, so we'll set the bumper aside. Once we're gonna remove these two small bolts from the sway bar cover on both sides and get this cover removed from the Jeep. Now we can take off that sway bar cover. So when you have your factory bumper and your new OR-Fab bumper side-by-side, you can really see just how how much shorter the OR-Fab bumper is. It's a pretty drastic change, and, in my opinion, a stubby bumper like this is going to be both functional and really add that kind of off-road, rough-and-tumble, utilitarian styling to your Jeep that a lot of people are after. This bumper's going to also add some additional functionality over your factory bumper. As you can see, up on the factory bumper, there are no recovery points. You could have some factory tow hooks up here on the top of the bumper. Our Jeep did not have them. But with the OR-Fab bumper, you're going to have D-ring mounts, and it does come with the D-rings. That gives you a really solid connection for using a snatch strap or even for going from your Winch to a snatch block and back again to your bumper. So a ton of different recovery options with this bumper. As I already mentioned, this does have a winch plate built right into it, no additional hardware necessary. Bolt your winch up and go. And this does have the stinger, which, for most of you, is going to be more of a style thing than anything else. A stinger's really designed for when you're coming off of a really steep obstacle. If you're almost about to roll forward, the stinger's gonna hit the ground. It's gonna kick you to one side or the other, instead of having you completely roll on your lid. Again, most of us, we like a stinger because of the style. We're not really doing that kind of wheeling where we would need to be able to use something like that. Another functional aspect of the OR-Fab bumper that your factory bumper just isn't going to have are a couple of jacking points on the side. So if you have a high-lift-style jack, a farm-style jack, you can insert the tongue of that right into the corner of your bumper, and it gives you a nice, secure spot to jack up from. So, like I said, some pretty big differences between the factory bumper and the OR-Fab bumper as far as size, functionality, and style. Now, it's time to get our new bumper bolted onto our Jeep. So we're gonna set it over the frame rails here, and then we'll use our factory hardware to get it bolted down. I'm just gonna get a couple of bolts started to make sure that this thing isn't gonna fall off on us, and then we'll get the rest of the hardware threaded in my hand before we go back and torque it down. Now that we have all of the hardware started by hand, we can tighten it down.
