Review & Install Video
The Rugged Ridge Smoked Acrylic Window Rain Deflectors are for those of you that have a 4-door, 2007 and up, JK and are looking for a way to be able to crack your windows, get some fresh air in the Jeep, and also keep the rain out. These will also change up the look of your Jeep, if that's something that you're after, and these are gonna be a little less expensive than some of the more premium versions on the market. These are gonna be made of a scratch-resistant acrylic material so they're gonna hold up really well in the weather. They're not gonna crack, fade, yellow in the UV rays, or when your Jeep's sitting out in the sun. As it says in the title, these are going to be the smoked version of these, however, these are also available in a matte black version, if that's the look that you're after.
This is going to be a very simple installation, definitely a 1 out of 3 wrench install, and this shouldn't take you any more than 15 minutes to complete. The first step is going to be un-boxing your new window rain deflectors, hold them up to the Jeep, and see where the pre-applied 3M adhesive is going to contact that window frame, that way you know exactly where you need to clean. Prepping the surface is the most important part of installing anything on your vehicle with this 3M adhesive. If you make sure the area is nice and clean, these are going to stay put exactly where you want them for a good, long time. So, clean the area with a good alcohol-based cleaner before you apply the adhesive, and, again, these are gonna stay put. So, clean that area, peel the 3M adhesive off, stick these on, apply a little bit of pressure, and that's really all there is to it. When installing anything with 3M adhesive, you are going to want to do the installation when it's fairly warm out, right around 70 degrees is best. If you try to do this when its fairly cold, you're not gonna get great adhesion with the adhesive.
These deflectors will run you between $40 and $60 depending on whether you're buying the 2-door or the 4-door version. And, that is going to be right in the area that I personally would be willing to pay for something that has a little bit of function, a little bit of styling, and it is a stick-on part. In my opinion, the more premium options out there, the weather-tech options that are priced a lot higher than these ones, are a little bit much. If you are looking for that premium option, you have the budget, those are definitely out there, but for my money, I'm gonna stick with something that's right in this price range. I think these are really fairly priced.
So, if you're looking for an affordable set of window rain deflectors, I definitely like these ones from Rugged Ridge, and you can find them right here at extrememterrain.com.
