Why Pick MBRP for Your Wrangler?Wrangler owners expect a lot from their ride. Yet many exhaust manufacturer's figure they can simply pack the same generic muffler into their Jeep kits that they put on a Civic. At MBRP we designed our Jeep JK/TJ muffler to match the very real demands off-roaders have for their rigs. After many dyno runs with various muffler designs, combined with real world testing, we were able to pull 9 RWHP and 15ft/lbs out of the 3.8L V6. The unique chambered design of the muffler provides a pleasingly rich rumble at idle that builds to a civilized growl at driving speeds and a throaty roar when you push the throttle down. Unlike fiber packed straight through mufflers our chambered design can handle getting wet. Here at MBRP, we put a lot of thought into the exhaust system. The muffler remains to the rear to avoid having to reposition the evaporation canister. We tucked the muffler up as high as possible in order to provide maximum clearance while keeping it in the factory location. The heavy 16 gauge steel construction is tough enough to stand up to anything that the road, or off road, can dish out. The mirror polished T304 stainless steel tip can be easily removed for off road adventures and replaced for driving around town.

The Best Systems Start With the Best MaterialsInstaller Series from MBRP brings you the best of both worlds. Designed and constructed to the exact same specifications as MBRP's Pro Series you can expect the same improvements in torque and horsepower and the same awesome sound as our top of the line products. The difference is the heavy duty aluminized steel construction. You save money without compromising on performance. MBRP Installer Series truly is superior to other aluminized exhaust products on the market. Heavy sixteen gauge steel is one reason. Another is that our systems have a thick protective coating of aluminum silica on the seams - an area that is often left exposed to rust. We are so certain of our Installer Series products that we back them with an industry leading 3 Year Warranty.

Built to PerformYou made an investment in your Jeep and would never consider less than the finest aftermarket parts for it. Your MBRP performance exhaust is designed to make sure that is what you get. Aside from a stylish classic look, you can count on your MBRP cat back system to give your Jeep a rich, mellow sound. And thanks to the fully mandrel bent pipes, MBRP performance muffler and minimal bend degree angle design you can count on squeezing every ounce of torque and horsepower your engine has to offer.

The Premium DifferenceIn an industry with its share of "commodity" exhaust products MBRP stands apart as a manufacturer of truly quality performance exhaust systems. You can see that in the way your system is packaged, the thought that goes into the design of every component, the consistent quality of the overall product and of course, the sound. The premium difference does not end there. Through our in house customer service team as well as the professionals who distribute and install our products you can count on your MBRP experience to be an enjoyable one.

Easy InstallationMBRP systems are as much fun to install as to drive with on your Jeep. Bolt-on, no weld design makes installing this on your Jeep without hassle - an easy no hassle one to two hour project. Everything is direct fit to the OEM hangers and you get all the clamps and parts you will need, all in one box.

Sound & StylePerformance is one thing but at MBRP we believe that appearance and sound is just as important. Every MBRP performance exhaust system has been specifically tuned to get the optimal sound from your vehicle. With our MBRP brand etched on the tips and our unmistakable styling, there's no question that you have the hottest exhaust on the road - MBRP.

    • Since the MBRP Installer Series Cat-Back Exhaust system does not interfere with the catalytic converters it is not subjected to CARB regulations and would be street legal.

How far approximately does the exhaust hang from the stock bumper? I have a very slim and small aftermarket rear bumper and I don't want the exhaust to hang too low or that would just weird.

Perfect fit! Howeverrrrrrrrrrr. Caution on the install

To take off the stock muffler and exhaust, you need to drop the skid plate that protects (AND SUPPORTS) the transmission. Once the skid plate is removed, the entire transmission drops 5-6 inches. Attaching the MBRP muffler and partial exhaust is impossible in this state as the hangar hook is out of reach. Discovered that you had to use a floor jack to lift the skid plate (and transmission) back into place to finish connecting the muffler. Once in place, perfect fit. However, was quite shocked to discover the "mis-alignment" - almost returned the product until messing with it. Would be good to caution future buyers who are installing this item at home in their garage.

I was worried that this would be to loud and it would drown the tunes, not. It is a far better exhaust than the stock and I am seeing better gas mileage, acceleration and it sounds better. I could not stop there, I added a few more things to improve the gas mileage. I am glad I did it. Plus the black exhaust goes well with my black '04 Wrangler.

Review from MBRP Installer Series Cat-Back Exhaust (04-06 Wrangler TJ Unlimited)

      MBRP Cat-Back Exhaust Review

I would give it 3 1/2 stars. Good value for the money. Fits pretty well and sounds great. A little throaty, but you would expect that. Only issue was the tail pipe (rear) hanger was in the wrong place and orientation for my 2005 Wrangler Unlimited. I had to heat up the 1/2" welded mount and bend it 90 degrees to be in the right orientation, then I made a longer (doubled up) rubber hanger to make up for the location difference. I also added another hanger to stabilize the "side to side" action or it would bump into the transfer case when off roading.

      Awesome exhaust!

The exhaust was a great fit and the sound is much deeper and louder than stock. My install took a little longer than it should due to my old muffler needing to be cut completely off so I ended up welding the new one. But overall the sound and style is awesome especially for the price! Definitely recommend

It took me a few hours to install mainly due to my rusty stock exhaust. After I got the stock exhaust the MBRP kit fit very well, you can tell it was made for Jeeps not just another universal muffler all the factory hangers fell into place and it curved perfect around the fuel tank.

Easy install. It was easy due to two piece system. I have to use a cut off wheel to Cut the old one off. It was louder than I expected but it's not a dronner or to loud. Over all pleased.

      Nice bark for the price

My install was a little different since the previous owner of my TJ had a universal cat welded into the system so it took me longer to install. If your TJ is stock I could see this getting done in about an hour. All of the tubing bends are in the right spots with a good amount of axle clearance over the rear end. The sound is nice a mellow tone, not too loud but noticeable over stock.

have had it on my jeep for about 2 weeks now no problem love the race not it hits when you get high rpms at low rpms its got a pretty deep note my buddy has the flowmaster cat and there notes are almost simmilar at low, it took me about two hours to get everything on all i did was jack it up and disconnect old one and cut it in half to save time trying to get stock out of there other wise you will waste time and putting in new one wasnt that long had to do some adjustments but in the end love the look the slight tilt out behind rear passenger wheel looks mean and gets attention already!!

      Exactly what I wanted.

Cat back took about two hours to install. The only issues I had was taking the old one out because of some rusty parts. But that's jeeps for you. Once the old one was out the new one fit right in bolted it up and in no time the new exhaust was in. This exhaust produce a nice low rumble sound. Nothing super loud but loud enough to know. I have a soft top on my jeep and I'm still able to have a conversation in my jeep at highway speeds.

Review from MBRP Installer Series Cat-Back Exhaust (00-06 Wrangler TJ)

      1 Hour install

Easy install. It took me longer to read all the reviews than to install the cat back system. After getting my jeep on jack stands I supported the transmission with a screw jack. I lowered the cross member on the passenger side by leaving the center bolt in but loosened on the drivers side. This gave me good access to the exhaust bolts behind the converter. I sprayed penetrating oil on the exhaust bolts and hangers. Sawed the old exhaust off behind the muffler. Out with the old and in with the new. Great Sound at idle sounds like a v8 and not over powering on the highway. Thanks
