Merideth: Now, if you take your doors off often and you're looking for a set of sturdy mirrors to help out with your visibility while driving, these officially-licensed Jeep rectangular adventure mirrors with the engraved Jeep logo in textured black will be a great option for your 1966 to 2018 CJ, YJ, TJ, or JK Wrangler.I personally know whenever I have the doors off of the Jeep, I feel like there's always something missing and that's because there is. Now, having a mirror there is incredibly helpful while driving around in the street, and not to mention, it may be a requirement for where you live to have mirrors on your Jeep when the full doors are off. This kit will be a great solution to those issues featuring two large-rectangular trail mirrors that will improve your field of view out while driving and also offer some branded styling with the engraved Jeep logo. Now, these will be made of a durable steel construction and have a nice textured black powder coat finish on top to match with any other black accessories that you may already have on your Wrangler. These will also be incredibly straightforward to install considering that they mount right into the top-door hinge. Now, what I like about the hinge mount is that it's gonna put it in a good spot for really good visibility and the large mirror will do a great job at giving you a lot of that visibility in comparison to some other smaller options. Now, these will also be fully adjustable on the back, so you can adjust them to your personal preference. Now, at the bottom, again, you're gonna have that officially licensed Jeep logo engraved, and I like that it offers a lot of styling while being pretty subtle and not too in your face. When it comes to price, these will come in at roughly $100 for the set. And when comparing these to some other choices available in the category, you'll see that this has, again, that large-rectangular mirror and that iconic Jeep logo down at the bottom. Now, at the bottom, these will also have the officially-licensed Jeep logo engraved, and I personally like that it offers a lot of styling while still being pretty subtle down at the bottom and not too much in your face, perfect for somebody who's looking for a more stealthy look. Now, when it comes to the install, I'm gonna give this a very easy 1 out of 3 wrenches on the difficulty meter, taking you about 30 minutes to get the job done with some basic hand tools. Now, at this point, we're gonna head over to the shop and show you a detailed breakdown of how to get these onto your Jeep at home. So, that is going to wrap it up for me. Let's get into the install.Man: The tools you'll need for this installation are a pair of channel locks, 13-mill, and a 15-millimeter ratchet wrench. A regular wrench for each of these will work as well as a socket. And a 4-millimeter Allen key.So, today we're gonna be installing a mirror on our Jeep Wrangler. Let's get started. So, the first step of the install is we're gonna take the included mirror arm, and drop it into the hinge of the door. That's gonna give us a nice, sturdy base to attach the mirror to the arm.Our next step is to grab the hardware that's included with the kit. We're gonna start with the 13-millimeter bolt. What we're gonna do is take a lock washer, we put it on, and then one of the regular washers, just like that, then we can go ahead and pass it through the arm. And we're gonna take another washer, put it on there, just like that. Now we're ready to grab our mirror. And make sure that Jeep logo is facing the correct side up. Kind of gonna hold it here. Start threading that bolt into the mirror. It's gonna get to a point where it's gonna start compressing the lock washer, and the actual shaft of the arm behind the mirror is gonna start spinning with the bolt. So what I'm going to do is take a pair of channel locks and hold this still. I'm not gonna squeeze very hard because I don't wanna scratch the metal or dent it. And then I'm gonna grab my 13-millimeter ratchet wrench, put it on there, start tightening it down. I'm not gonna go crazy tight with it. I'm just going to snug it up so that lock washer is compressed. There is that. Now, you'll notice that this can still move as an entire piece in the hinge as well as the mirror rotate on the ball joint. We'll get to that in a minute. Our next step is to take the 15-millimeter nut, and thread it on to the bottom of the shaft of the arm. Before I snug this up, I'm gonna kind of adjust the arm of the mirror where I want it, and then we can go ahead and take our 15-millimeter ratchet wrench, hold the shafts of that mirror still, snug it up.Now that we have the arm of the mirror in place, we can adjust the head of the mirror to point where you'd like. There's 3 Allen screws on the back of the mirror head and I'm using a 4-millimeter Allen key to just snug these guys up when I have the mirror in the place that I want it. I'm not going super tight with these. Just snugging them up. Now, you can see that mirror is nice and solid, exactly where we want it.Now that everything's snugged up, that's an install complete. Those were the officially-licensed Jeep Wrangler adventure mirrors with engraved Jeep logo textured black for the '66 to 2018 Jeep CJ5, CJ7, Wrangler YJ, TJ, and JK.
