The lighter socket usually stops working due to an electrical malfunction or a foreign object lodged inside. Whatever the reason, you can quickly remove it using this handy Cigarette Lighter Removal Tool and check for issues. If your previous socket is a goner, you can replace it with the 12-Volt accessory power outlet included in this kit.

This allows the tool to latch onto the socket and quickly pull it out from its retaining bezel on the dash. Just make sure there’s no power going to the outlet before inserting the tool. You can easily check the owner’s manual to locate the fuse that applies to that power outlet. After removing the old socket, clip the new outlet in if replacement is needed.
