The Original 40 is built as a street muffler, and is street-legal, though it can also hold its own in strip and off-road applications. Made from corrosion-defying stainless steel, this quality muffler creates a loud, aggressive exterior exhaust note - the famous "Flowmaster sound" - and quite a bit of interior resonance, too. This is a high performance grade component made for the toughest trails and the most challenging situations as well as a ferocious tone.

American-Made Robustness. The Flowmaster Original 40 Series Muffler is made out of T-409 stainless steel, an intermediate grade that tarnishes, but is unlikely to ever rust or corrode during your vehicle's useful life. Covered by a limited lifetime warranty and USA-made, the Original 40 Series has a gray finish and is fully MIG welded for toughness. The steel walls are 16-gauge. This 19" muffler has an offset 2.5" inlet and a centered 2.5" outlet, both with pipe connections.
