Eric: Hey, guys, Eric, with ExtremeTerrain. In this video, we're taking a quick look and installing this set of fishbone offroad entry guards fitting all 2018 and later four-door JL Wranglers. And you should be checking these out if you want to do everything you can to preserve the condition of your Jeep, especially if you put it to hard use like many JL owners do.One of the most vulnerable areas that see a lot of wear and tear is the dorsal area. Now, getting in and out of your Jeep, even under plain old daily driving situations, easily involves stepping on or dragging your foot across this area. Over time, the paint gets scuffed and scratched, and in extreme cases, it could lead to rust and corrosion. Now, this only gets worse if you frequently hit the trails and you get mud, stones, and other grit on the soles of your shoes that end up scratching the surface area as well.Now priced at about 60 bucks, fishbone offroad entry guards provide a protection against this abuse. Each piece is cut and molded to fit with a double-sided adhesive backing to secure them in place. Now we have received overwhelmingly positive customer feedback on these offroad entry guards. Only thing I would note is that it's important to thoroughly clean and prep the area where the adhesive sticks to. That includes making sure there's no soap or other residues that would prevent a tight seal.This installation rates a most basic 1 out of 3 wrenches on the difficulty meter. A maximum of 30 minutes is about all you should need to get these guards mounted on your Jeep. Now, with that said, cleaning supplies like a microfiber towel and some warm, slightly soapy water are all you'll need to get these installed. No other tools, but like I said, just make sure you thoroughly clean, rinse and dry the surface area.Now as easy as that sounds, we do also have this clip from an ExtremeTerrain customer with a couple of tips on how to fit these on your JL Unlimited in no time at all.Man: For today's install, the only tools we'll be needing is some microfiber towels and a bowl of hot, soapy water. All right, we're going to install some fishbone entry guards on my 2018 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Sport. So we're going to start by prepping the area. I have a damp cloth here with some hot, soapy water. We're going to clean the area that we're going to be putting the guard off, and then I want to make sure it's good and dry, so we get good contact with the stick.All right, now the area is good and dry. The fishbone makes it really easy for you. The fish will point towards the rear. They recommend installing it with the seam between the fifth and sixth arrow. All right. So let's take off this tape.There we go. One final piece of sticky tape. Now that we've got these off, we'll line it up with our [inaudible]. One, two, three, four, five. In between this one, [inaudible] seam. Drop it down in. Get that nice, natural contour with that line. Line it up. Make sure there's good contact and apply some pressure.All right, time to install the entry guard on the rear. Same thing. We're going to wipe clean the area with a damp cloth and then dry it. Fishbone makes it real easy. The fish will point towards the rear on the install, and they recommend in between the second and third with the seam. So let's take off this protective tape. We're going to strip down.All right, now that we've got the tape off, we're going to install it between the second and third is where that seam's going to align. We're going to line it up and make sure that top is where we want it. It goes with the natural curvature of the vehicle. Push firmly. Make sure you get good contact. Let's check closing. Perfect. Time to move on to the other side.Time to install the entry guards on the passenger side, and we're going to prep the work area, wipe it down, get it ready and clean with a damp cloth. And then make sure it's really dry. All right, now we're gonna remove the protective tape.Fishbone makes it real easy. The fish will point towards the rear of the vehicle. That's how you tell which side is where. The arrow, you line it up to the door. In between the fifth and sixth arrows is where the seam should lie. One, two, three, four, five. Fifth and sixth arrow. You can also lay it down and get the natural curvature of the body. Push it down.Again, we're going to prep the area. Wipe it down with a damp cloth, and then make sure it's good and dry. We're going to remove the adhesive backing.You're going to have the fish point towards the rear, and it's going to go in between the second and third. It's going to line up there on the seam. Put it down, lining up with the natural curvature of your doorway. Press firmly.
