Description
Innovative Shackle Mount. The Factor 55 Splicer Shackle Mount Gray is a specialized device designed for synthetic winch ropes. It replaces traditional winch hooks by providing a safer, more secure connection point with integrated rope protection, enhancing recovery safety and durability.
Construction and Appearance. It is constructed from precision CNC machined 6000 series military grade aluminum, finished with durable military spec hard anodizing and powder coating. The design includes a machined rope passage and integrated EPDM rubber pad to protect against impact, abrasion, and UV exposure, ensuring longevity and peak performance.
Installation. Installation requires synthetic rope splicing knowledge, specifically using a locking Brummel splice or long bury splice. No drilling is required; however, splicing tools such as a fid are recommended for proper assembly.
Fitment and Application. This shackle mount fits synthetic winch ropes up to ½” in diameter. It connects to both the pin and bow ends of common ¾” screw pin shackles and to the pin ends of 7/8” and 1” screw pin shackles. It replaces conventional winch hooks to facilitate safer closed system winching recoveries.
