Description
Replace Worn Or Damaged Frame Shackle Bushings. In addition to the bushings found on your Jeep YJ’s leaf springs and shackles, bushings reside within the frame itself at the mounting point for the leaf spring. After years of normal use and age alone, these rubber bushings will begin to dry-rot and deteriorate, causing the shackle mounting bolt to bounce around and move freely within the hole in the frame. When this occurs, you may experience clunking and other unsatisfactory noises during acceleration and deceleration, a loose suspension feel, and difficulty keeping your Jeep tracking down the road straight. When the time comes to install replacements, don't install the same wear and failure-prone rubber bushings, but instead opt for a performance, polyurethane bushing.
Improved Performance Over OE-Rubber Bushings. Rubber bushings are intended to be extremely compliant and flexible, and while good for comfort, are not necessarily good for articulation and performance. On the other hand, polyurethane bushings allow your Jeep’s shackles to move freely without binding and deflecting, allowing for a functional, stiff, and sporty ride both on and off-road.
Heavy-Duty Construction. These high-intensity polyurethane bushings are constructed from a material specifically engineered for automotive applications. Not only are they incredibly firm and durable, but they’re also chemical, oil, and ozone resistant for more than double the service life of similar rubber bushings.
Warranty. These shackle bushings are backed by a 7-Year, 750,000-Mile warranty against defects in manufacturing; normal wear and finish are not covered.
Application. This product replaces the frame shackle bushings on either the front or rear of 1987-1995 Jeep Wrangler YJ models.
