Can these be mounted further forward, like just behind hood latch. I want to use one as a cold air intake for a Banks induction system.

        • The Daystar Hood Vent kit would not be able to install far from the intended location as it would no longer properly attach or sit flush to the hood.

            cool your engine

I work my engine hard on these Rocky Mountain trails. Wanted to give her a break and help keep it as cool as possible. was a little wary of cutting on my hood with a jig saw but with a hardened steel blade was no problem. fairly easy install.

They look really really good! Wish they were metal not plastic for the price, but still good quality. Moderately easy to install.

            A lot cooler

Very easy install. And definitely cools the engine area. You can feel the heat coming out of engine area by putting your hand over the top of the vent

            B careful

Looks good. But I ,broke the first one when i was just checking it on the hood, wind blew it off and I stepped on it. Yep broke it. Ordered a new set and broke the same side again. Putting the screws in, raised the edge to line up the hole and snapped the bottom corner off. Was able to glue it this time. Not willing to purchase the kit again. Im thinking the plastic is brittle. I'm usually much better at installing things.

Hood Vent broken both times it was ordered

I received a hood vent and it was broken, returned and received a new one no problem, but it was broken too. Ended up using glue to put the corner back on and looks it's been glued. Don't know why they can't ship a product that is not broken.

            Daystar Side Hood Vents

got these on the recommendation of a friend. I probably should have gotten some better tools to cut the hood, but it came out ok. The fit is ok, and that probably goes back to getting the right tools for the job. Took the jeep out for a drive and was amazed at the site of heat billowing out of the top of the hood. I really recommend these vents.

            Great addition to side vents

Bought/installed this shortly after installing the Daystar side vents. Found install video for the side vents but none for this center hood vent. Getting the sides installed first helped this go much quicker. Good instructions, and I recommend using a sheet metal air nibbler if you've got a good air compressor. The cut off chips are bigger and easier to clean up then chips/dust created by angle grinder. Keep in mind this is not going to lower engine temps, just under hood temps, which will help prolong all under hood components and keep air intake cooler. Nice look and much cheaper than an aftermarket vented hood.

            Worth the Money!

If you are a JK owner you know just how hot the engine compartment gets. This pretty simple modification helped me in a big way. I combined it with the center vent for all three and noticed a significant difference in the performance of my 3.8 with the reduced heat. Can be a little tricky to cut and I highly recommend using a jig saw with a thin metal blade for a clean and radius cut. Well worth it!

Nice addition with the Daystar Side Vents

Put this on with the Daystar Hood Vents - Side Vents. Easy to install and works well as a trio. Dropped my engine compartment about 40 deg. F from stock with all the vents added.

            Do what they say!!

Nice addition to the JK that typically run hot. Hardware is very short so it takes some time to get them correctly installed but overall it is a nice set-up. Dropped my engine compartment about 40 deg. F from the stock hood. Would recommend for anyone looking to squeak out just a few more horses from your motor.

First of all, extreme terrains "standard shipping" always comes overnight for me (which is exciting). I love how these vents look on, installation wasn't too bad. I'll try to get a picture up soon. I recommend it
