Merideth: If you wanna complete the LED look with a set of fog lights for your 2007 or newer JK or JL Wrangler, these Raxiom Axial Series LED Fog Lights will be a great choice to consider. Now, these will complete that LED and even halo look to the front end of your Wrangler if you've upgraded your headlights, and are looking to match or you're looking to switch out to a full LED setup and want a stylish set to do so. Now, this kit will also be great if you've damaged a fog light and you want a very affordable replacement while getting some better lighting if you're struggling with brightness and visibility at night. Now, these will feature a black inner housing that will darken the appearance of the lights and really make the lighting pop once they're on. Now, speaking of the pop-up style that you'll get from these lights, you can also see that you're getting a halo here that will tie into your DRL and even your turn signal to make you a lot more noticeable on the street, and of course, match with halo headlights if your Jeep is equipped. Now, additionally, this will have three projector bars with high-intensity LEDs, which will give off a uniform and very bright beam pattern compared to the halogen bulbs. Now you can also trust that these will last with a 50,000-hour lifespan and have some peace of mind that these are DOT and SAE approved. Now, getting into the build, these will have a die-cast aluminum housing for good durability and good heat dispersion. These will also be very tough on the front with a crystal clear polycarbonate lens that will offer enough toughness to handle any kick-up on the road or off of it, especially considering the location on the front bumper. I also like the fact that this will accommodate both the four-hole bolt pattern on the JK and some JL models, while also including an additional bracket for 50 JL Sport models. And you can also rest assured that this is going to be mostly plug-and-play with a pretty straightforward install. There is a little bit of wire required. On the back of the light you do have two pigtails when it comes to the halo, but they're already tied into the light so you don't have to worry about it there. You just have to extend the wiring into your DRL, which is pretty easy. We'll show you how to do that in just a second. But you are getting plug-and-play wiring harnesses for the fog light itself as far as the inner lighting is concerned excluding that halo. And you also get an additional wiring harness here. This is going to have two pigtails on the end if you want to add this to more of a custom setup, and not into the factory-style harness. Now, when it comes to price, these will be very affordable at about $125 for the kit. Now, when comparing to other options available on this site, I think the big takeaway with this set is the simplicity in the design while also adding an extra touch of style and that added function with the halo and the turn signal. Now other choices available on the page may include additional features with that halo, like an RGB function or are just gonna have an overall different design to the lighting on the inside itself. Not to mention this tailors to the JL Sport-bolt pattern and the standard four-hole bolt pattern. So if you upgrade your stock JL front bumper in the future, you really don't have to question it. So that, with all of the additional function and the styling that these bring to the table, I think it's a no-brainer.Now, install again is going to be straightforward. Like I mentioned, there is a little bit of wiring but it's not intimidating at all. And we'll show you how to do that in just a minute here. But I'm gonna give this a one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter, probably taking you about two hours to get the bumper off, install these properly, get it all wired up with some basic hand tools. So at this point, let's head over to the shop and check out a detailed breakdown of the install on how to get these onto your JK or JL at home.Man 1: Tools required for this install include an impact gun, an electric ratchet, a hand ratchet, wire strippers and crimpers, a pair of pliers, a clip remover tool, a flathead screwdriver, a couple of different size extensions, 7, 8, 16, and 18-millimeter socket, a swivel adapter, a T Tap, a female and male spade connector, and some water. What's up guys? Today we're installing a front bumper on our Jeep. First, we're gonna watch a quick video for how to uninstall our factory bumper, and I'll meet you right back here for the install.Man 2: To begin this installation, we're gonna need to remove our factory bumper. We're gonna begin with the air dam underneath. There's a series of pop clips that we'll have to use a screwdriver or a trim panel removal tool. And there's two screws that we're gonna use an 8-millimeter socket for. All right, so we have eight of these push pins all the way across the bottom. We're gonna just take and pop the center out and that's gonna release that clip. So once you get the last screw out of the bottom, you're ready to pull the whole shield off. So next we're gonna take off this metal shield using a 16-millimeter socket. You're gonna have one bolt on either side. After you get those bolts off, you can lift this up and it'll slide right off. So next we're gonna unplug our fog light harness. It's located here on the passenger side frame rail. We're just gonna press this tab in and then we can disconnect our plug. So after we have our fog light harness unplugged, you're ready to remove the four nuts on both ends of the frame rail. We're gonna use an 18-millimeter socket to do this. So the last thing to disconnect before we pull our bumper off, there's gonna be two push pins, one on either side on the top of the frame rail. We'll need to pop those out with a screwdriver and then we can pull our bumper off. With everything disconnected, you can remove your stock bumper.Man 1: So now with our factory fog lights removed from our front bumper, we can install our new ones. So we'll drop those into our buckets and reinstall our four factory screws per side. So now we can grab our new fog light. We have these two holes for our two locating pins, so that way you can't mount it upside down. So we'll drop that into place and then we can thread our screws in. And then we'll take our 7-millimeter socket to tighten these down. Now this housing is plastic, so you wanna make sure you don't over tighten these. Now, the next thing we're gonna have to do is we have our two wires coming off for our turn signal and our daytime running light. We don't have extension wires included in this kit, so we're gonna have to wire up our own. So we'll do that next. So you can wire these up however you'd like. The way we're gonna do it is we're gonna run wires into our fender flares to our daytime running light and turn signal. We're gonna be using a T Tap displaced into our wires. The way this works is it has this little metal fork that you're gonna put the wire in between and then you'll close it up, get a pair of pliers to pinch it down, and that's gonna cut into the wire to make our connection. Now we already have T Taps on RG from previous installs, so this is how you're gonna do it. Now, I've got about 2 ½ feet of wire here. I color-coordinated them with the yellow and the blue that are coming off of our fog lights just to make it easier. We're gonna be using a female spade on our fog light side and a male spade that's gonna be going into the T Tap. Once you fold this shut, there's a little gap where you can slide that male spade into to make our connection. So we're gonna strip some lead off of our wires and crimp down our connectors to install these. So now we can take a pair of wire strippers and strip back some lead onto our wires. And then we're just gonna twist up our lead. Now as mentioned before, we're gonna be putting one male spade and one female spade on each wire. So we'll slide that on and then we can crimp that down. And then on the other side we'll grab our female spade, and then we'll just do this process a second time for the other side fog light. So next we can start plugging in all of our harnesses and connectors. So first we have our adapter harness for our fog lights. So we're gonna plug our main harness into the round side. And then the other side of our harness is gonna go into the harness for our fog light. And then we can plug our connectors in, slide that in place, and then we can slide this piece back over. And then we'll do the same thing for our blue wire. And now we're gonna run these wires out the side here, tuck that wire away, and then we can reinstall our plastic cover, slide that into place, and then we can reinstall all of our push clips. And then we can do the same thing on the other side. And then we can reinstall our bumper. So now we're ready to reinstall our front bumper. So now would be a good time to grab yourself a buddy. We're gonna lift it up onto our frame horns, reinstall our four factory nuts per side, and then we can go back and tighten them down. So now once you've got yourself a buddy, we can lift our bumper onto our frame horns and reinstall our nuts. So now we have our two studs poking through and we can reinstall our bracket. And then we'll slide our two nuts onto our studs, and then we can reinstall our factory bolt to the side of our bracket. And then we can take our 18-millimeter socket to tighten down our two nuts. And then we'll switch over to our 16-millimeter socket for our bolt. And then we can do the same thing for our remaining nuts, bolts, and brackets. And then on the passenger side, we can plug our harness for our fog lights back in. So now we can pull back on our fender liner to get access to our wire harness. We have a clip here and a clip right above this old plastic rivet. So we'll grab a clip remover tool to pop these out. And then this one I'm gonna get in behind it and pop that one out. You might also have an 8-millimeter bolt here that you can remove with an 8-millimeter socket to get some more access. Ours is missing. Then we'll pull back on our fender liner. We already have our T Taps installed, but this white wire with the green stripe is gonna be for our turn signal. And this white wire over here is going to be for our daytime running light. So now once we pull back on our fender liner, we have access to our harness. Now as mentioned before, we already have T Taps installed on these wires from a previous install, but if you're doing this for the first time, you would crimp these down onto the wires, just like I showed you on the table. This white wire with the green stripe is gonna be our turn signal wire, whereas this white wire that's going to our side marker is going to be our daytime running light wire. So the yellow wire from our fog light is gonna be for our daytime running light. So we're gonna connect that to our white wire just by pressing that in like that. And our blue wire's gonna be for our turn signal. So that's gonna go to our white and green wire. And then once we have that done, we can pull out on the fender liner up here, and tuck that back behind the grille to hide our wire. And then we'll replace our fender liner and put those clips back in. So now we'll reinstall our two push clips. Once again, the first one's right above this plastic rivet. And then our second one's right behind this push clip in our fender flare. And now once you're done on this side, you can do that same thing on the other side. Next, we can reinstall our skid plate and all of our push clips. Start by getting the outside too, since they're the easiest ones to get to. And then we can start knocking out all the ones in between. And then we have one of those clips that's missing. So our last one, we're just gonna throw in a regular. And finally, we can reinstall our two 8-millimeter bolts at the bottom of our skid plate. And we'll just use an 8-millimeter socket to tighten it down. And then we'll do that same thing on the other side. So that'll wrap up this review and install of the Axial LED Fog Lights with Halo for your 2007 and newer Jeep Wrangler, JK and JL. Thank you for watching and for all things Wrangler, keep it right here at extremeterrain.com.
