Great look and great ride
I installed this kit on my 08JKU. I already loaded it down with HD bumpers, winch and sliders. I was constantly bottoming out but now I go my Jeep back. After the install the jeep is about 3.5 inches higher but I believe that is due to the pre-install loading on the stock springs. The ride is great and although its a little higher than I wanted I think this is a great kit. My son and I installed the kit in a day but this could have beenHelpful (1)

If nothing else the ride quality improvement is worth purchasing this kit. I gained the exact height advertised. Install was straight forward took about 4 hours including “beverage” break.Helpful (1)

After 4 months of research
I had a hard time deciding which lift to go with. Been researching pros and cons, and asking lots of questions. I'm very happy with Old Man Emu lift. Rides higher than 4 inches, but still excellent On Road. I haven't had a chance to take it off road yet. This has been worth the extra $300 of my original price limit.Helpful (4)

Great bang for the buck lift
This lift is advertised as an 1.5 to 2" heavy duty lift. I was thrilled to see it up around 3" on completion. Even though I have custom steel bumpers, that add a lot of weight to my rig. This lift was the final touch my 2012 Wrangler needed. The ride, and the looks are great.Helpful (8)

Directions would've been a lot nicer but an internet search provided a decent set. This lift ended up adding 3 or more inches to my ride height. So far I am very pleased.Helpful (9)

NOT WHAT I EXPECTED
I HAVE BARRICADE FRONT and REAR BUMPERS, WINCH, HEAVY TIRE CARRIER AND HEAVY TIRE and WHEEL SETUP. WANTED A 2 IN. LIFT AND THIS SOUNDED JUST RIGHT. LIFT HEIGHT ENDED UP BEING 3 INCHES AND THE RIDE IS A LITTLE ROUGHER. ALSO HAD NO INSTRUCTIONS THAT I COULD FIND. NOT SURE WHAT I WILL DO BUT I MAY GO BACK WITH THE FACTORY SPRINGS AND SHOCKS.Helpful (14)

OME does it for me
Got this lift for a 2016 Wrangler, it would have been a little easier to do with basic instructions. Shipped fast, boxes were in drug down the road shape, but everything in good shape inside. The ride is a lot better, bought the heavy load for towing our RPod trailer, should remove the swaying of factory suspension. Wife's not too happy, she has to get a running start to get in :). Overall for the price its a good buy.Helpful (17)

2 inch ome lift
This is an awesome lift. Overall the ride quality seems to have improved from the stock ride. I will say this lift with stock bumpers etc ends up higher than 2 inches. I did not need brake relocation kits. I do highly recommend adjustable track bars and sttering stsbilizer though. It makes life much easier on the install and helps with the overal stability.Helpful (13)

Great Lift, INSTALL WILL MAKE YOU RETHINK IT
I got this lift. all the parts a high quality but it came with NO INSTRUCTIONS AT ALL. Luckily i found a write up that was helpful. i was luck the hobby shop where i work on my car had spring compressors otherwise they would have NEVER fit. SERIOUSLY consider brake line extensions this is bigger then 2 inches and my lines are almost always uncomfortably tight. If i did it again get a different lift but get these shocks.Helpful (22)

Excellent but not specific!
This is an amazing lift, the ride quality is excellent and better than stock. I cannot comment on install since a shop did it for me. However, if you’re buying this for. 2 door I recommend two things, go 37’s and be ready for a high lift. This lift is normally sold as “heavy load” and if you’re rig isn’t carrrying roof rack and winch it will sit higher than 4 inches.Helpful (15)
Would this kit need a brake line relocation bracket for stock brake lines?
The Old Man Emu 2 in. Heavy Load Lift Kit does not require brake line relocation for normal usage, however for applications where full suspension articulation is required it is recommend to relocate the brake lines as a safety precaution.
Is there any other parts suggested to complete this kit?
The Old Man Emu 2 in. Heavy Load Lift Kit w/ Shocks (07-17 Wrangler JK 4-Door) does not include an exhaust spacer, you will need the exhaust spacer for 2012 and newer JK.
I keep seeing reference to this giving a 3 inch lift. The 2" lift is exactly where I want to be for my 2017 JKU. I'm hoping to get as large of wheels then without re-gearing - ideally something close to a 34". Does this truly hit a 2" lift?
The Old Man Emu 2 in. Heavy Load Lift Kit w/ Shocks will provide 2-2.5 inches of lift depending on aftermarket mods.
Will this kit affect my electronic suspension control or my front end alignment?
The Old Man Emu 2 in. Heavy Load Lift Kit w/ Shocks (07-17 Wrangler JK 2-Door) would require you to upgrade your electronic swaybar disconnects to accommodate for the extra suspension height. As well, after lifting your vehicle, you should have it professionally aligned.
I have a Jeep JK with steel bumper on the front, stock bumper on back with stock wheel mounted. I plan to install a winch and steel bumper on the back in the future but it may be awhile. Will this kit be to harsh of a ride with my current setup?
The Old Man Emu 2 in. Heavy Load Lift Kit w/ Shocks (07-17 Wrangler JK 4-Door) will definitely support that set up and the ride will not be harsh,
Hello, yes, you can use this lift kit and the stock driveshafts. Although upgrading your driveshafts is always a good idea.
Yes. This kit is designed for the extra weight of bumper and winch combinations up front and will provide a level stance once installed.
The ride will feel different after installation of the Old Man Emu 2 in. Heavy Load Lift Kit. Because of the stronger suspension components, the ride will be stiffer.
Yes you will need the exhaust spacer for 2012 and newer I don't know about 2007-2011
No, this kit cannot accommodate 37" tires.
You would not need anything else with this kit.
These would be for the front for your TJ
There is not another spring option for this kit at this point in time, however the front and rear springs contained in this kit will be able to support the weight of this kit as well as assist in terms of the proper suspension of your Jeep.
The only other part I would recommend with this lift to keep your electronic disconnect system working would be longer sway bar end links made for two inches of lift, other than that you'll be good to go!
This kit will give you 2 to 2.5 inches of lift depending on your vehicle's aftermarket mods.
