      Hey guys. So today we're checking out the Alterum Multi-Function Cup Holder fitting all 2018 and newer JL Wranglers. So if you're in search of some small and affordable mods for the inside of your JL, that's gonna create some better accessibility and some better function, then this is gonna be a great choice to take a look into. So this will mount up really whatever you'd like. This is gonna have a small cutout in the front for your cell phone or really any other device. Then you're gonna have a larger cutout in the back for a cup or really, again, whatever you'd like to fit inside this cup holder mount. Now this is going to be spring-loaded and it's going to have foam on the inside as well as a little stopper on the bottom to make sure whatever is mounted up in this cup holder is going to stay in place while you are driving. Now this is going to be made of a plastic material and it's going to have an aluminum mount to make sure that this is sturdy and again, keeping whatever is inside it in place. I really like where this is placed. It's very accessible to the driver and it's at a sturdy mounting point. So this is gonna mount up to your grab handle on the passenger side. Gonna be very easy to install as well and it really is going to give a lot of function and accessibility to the inside of your cab area especially as the driver even for such a small product.Now that being said, like I mentioned, this is going to be affordable at roughly $35 and even though this is a pretty simple mod for your interior, I think that it is well worth the price. Now this will have a quality construction and what I really like about this is that not only is it a cup holder, it is a multi-function unit so you can really mount whatever you need accessible to you in this mount. Now there are not a lot of other options specifically like this on the page. There are options for storage and organization but nothing really like this. So if you're looking for that one-of-a-kind product that is really going to add some better accessibility to your phone, your drinks, whatever you're mounting up inside this cup holder, then this is gonna be a great choice. So install is going to be a one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter and you're gonna need some very basic hand tools to get the job done. So speaking of that install, let me run you through that right now. The tools that I used for my install were an impact wrench, a 10-millimeter socket and a trim removal tool. So our first step is to take off this control unit right here. We are going to mount our bracket behind our handle here on the passenger side but we have to access the bolt that's holding it in first.So I'm gonna take a panel removal tool and we're just going to wedge that in between the handle and our unit here and pull this forward. It's gonna be held in by a couple of clips. You can just give it a good tug and it should pop out just like that. We don't need to unplug anything or completely remove this. We just need it out of the way so we can access this bolt. So now that the bolt is exposed, we can take a 10-millimeter socket and remove that bolt. What we're gonna do is slide our bracket in between the bolt and our handle here as well as our dash. You wanna make sure that this bottom part is facing the bottom, it's facing down. And then once that is in there, what we're gonna do is put that bolt back in place, take our 10-millimeter socket and we can hand thread it in first. And then once it is threaded in, we can take our impact wrench, position this in place and tighten that up. You wanna make sure it's even and level. So once that is installed, what we're gonna do is reinstall our control unit here. Now, if you happen to knock one of these clips off or break a clip, you are provided with two extra ones. This one actually fell into here so what I'm gonna do is just add the one that was provided, line this up and we can give it a good press and pop that back into place. After your control unit is back on then you're all set to go. So that's gonna wrap it up for my review and install. Make sure you like and subscribe.
