Description
High-Efficiency Ignition. The Top Street Performance HEI Distributor in red replaces factory points-style distributors with a modern high-energy ignition unit designed for carbureted AMC and Jeep inline-six engines. It enhances spark reliability and timing precision, significantly improving cold starts, idle smoothness, and throttle response.
Durable Construction. Built with a machined aluminum housing and a steel gear, this distributor features an internal coil and ignition module integrated into a single compact unit. The package includes a vacuum advance adjustment tool and detailed installation instructions for easier setup.
Simple Installation. Installation requires no drilling and can be performed with basic mechanical knowledge. After installation, ignition timing must be set with a timing light for optimal performance.
Application. Specifically designed to fit 1976 to 1990 3.8L (232 CID), 4.2L (258 CID), and carbureted-conversion 4.0L inline-six engines found in Jeep CJ and Wrangler models, as well as AMC vehicles equipped with these engines. This distributor is not compatible with factory EFI-controlled ignition systems on these vehicles.
