5 2018 Rubicon - Brose Installation Time: Full Day

        Rubicon Recon 2.5 lift install

Everything you need for the first phase of lifting your Jeep comes in one box. The install took me about 7hrs on jack stands and a floor jack. The rear springs went in easily but the front was a fight to get them in. Watch the video for install, easy to follow written directions where a little hard to follow. A second person would be useful for this install and a spring compressor. On my 2018 JKU Rubicon Recon Edition I got about 2” of lift from this kit.

        Great ride quality

Like others read reviews did research and got sold, I'm satisfied with the ride, height and handling of this kit. It came with everything you need to get the job done right and efficient. Packaged correctly with no metal to metal rubbing, instructions booklet and they throw in a sticker for the front windshield. So far no issues using stock red shocks and stock size tires in my 2013 Rubicon Unlimited 10th Anniversary edition. My only concern is that the front bump stops contact very often off road even driving at slow speeds not sure why, I have to be careful when dropping into a rut or sudden low ground. Later I will upgrade to long shock absorbers and remove to extensions and 35 inch tires and see how it goes. Took all day by myself with air tools and floor jack and jack stands and watching videos, I had to use a spring compressor that made it easier to fit the springs at the front end also installed exhaust spacers. Smooth ride on and off road, height its higher in the front so it levels the Jeep and gives it a nice stance, I would recommend this kit if on a budget.

5 2015 Wrangler - Matt Installation Time: Weekend

        Nice quality lift

I had a whole weekend, so just took my time and imparted some knowledge on my 10 year old son, he really enjoys working on a project with me. Everything went together as it should. I would recommend getting the replacement extended lower control arms as this lift dose change your caster angle quite a bit. Very happy with the finished look and still drives like stock.

        Smooth on highway

Maintained factory ride at highway speeds, definitely one of the best budget lifts.

        Teraflex lift

Very easy to install and looks great! Gave my Jeep the look I wanted. Everything went on as it should. However I did buy the exhaust spacer kit and for me, on a 2013 Unlimited Sport 4dr, I did not need it.

        Great lift kit

This kit was easy to install and looks great. Exactly what I was looking for. A friend and I had it done in four hours using jack stands and basic hand tools.

5 2013 Rubicon - CoryJ Installation Time: Afternoon

        Excellent Kit

After a ton of research, I finally decided to go with this Teraflex 2.5 kit. I paired it with Fox shocks and 35x12.5 tires. Huge difference between my new setup and stock ride. Off road allows plenty of clearance and no rubbing. I would recommend going with this kit if you are contemplating spending the extra money on this or going a cheaper route, such as rough country.

        Pretty Great product overall

By far the cheapest shipping to Hawaii. Installed by my friend and I who had little experience with a project like this.

5 2014 Wrangler - TroyD Installation Time: Afternoon

        Great Lift

This is a quality lift that is fairly easy to install by yourself. Although it's listed as 2.5 inches I think it netted me just over 3 inches. For the price you definitely can't go wrong. Make sure you have all the required tools because if not, the install becomes a challenge. Case in point...removing the shocks. This was the most challenging part in my opinion. Not a lot of room to work the top nut and you must have the right wrench. I believe it's a 16mm. Highly recommend this lift to anyone considering it.

      5 Top Rated Questions

Can I use the stock 17" wheels with this kit?

      • Yes, with this Teraflex 2.5 in. Lift Kit w/ adapters for shocks: (J20387), will work with the stock 17" wheels. Now if you add larger tires that are wider than 10.5" you would need spacers, to accommodate for the backspacing the stock wheels have.

Why does the Fitment say the kit is designed for 07-12 Jeep Wrangler, but in the title it says its for a 07-17 Wrangler?

      • Hello! Sorry about the confusion, this kit will fit any Wrangler from 07-17. However model years 2012-2017 require the use of Exhaust spacer kit J12153.

Does this kit provide any leveling or would you still need the spacers?

      • The Teraflex 2.5 in. Lift Kit w/ Shock Extensions provides a adjustment to the vehicles factory rake but does not not fully correct that rake. A separate leveling spacer would be required to balance the vehicle out.

Do you still need the spacers if you've got a 2016 JKU with a high clearance exhaust?

      • Exhaust spacers will be required.

Trying to find out if there is a noticable height difference compared to the teraflex pro leveling kit I have installed now. Any information on such?

      • There would not be a crazy height difference between the two kits no.
