Description
Rear Brake Upgrade. The Rear Disc Brake Conversion Kit replaces factory drum brakes with high-performance disc brakes to improve braking efficiency and make maintenance easier. This upgrade is ideal for vehicles used off-road or with larger tires and added weight, conditions where drum brakes typically underperform. The kit enables straightforward installation of disc calipers and rotors to enhance overall braking performance.
Durable Components. The kit includes 3/8" CNC laser-cut caliper brackets for strength and precision. GM-style floating calipers arrive fully assembled and are complemented by custom-made vented rotors designed specifically for this application. DOT-approved brake lines and zinc-plated hardware complete the kit, with the caliper brackets supplied raw and unpainted to allow for finishing preferences.
Installation Details. Installation generally requires moderate mechanical skill and is designed as a bolt-on replacement for original drum brakes on compatible axles, with no major modifications like drilling typically needed.
Warranty Coverage. This product comes with a 12-month limited warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship under normal use.
Application Information. This kit fits 2005-2023 Toyota Tacoma models equipped with 6-lug axles only. Brake calipers are not compatible with factory emergency brake cables. An upgraded brake master cylinder may be necessary to ensure optimal brake system performance.
