Hey, guys. So, today we're checking out the LED Tail Lights in Black Smoke, fitting all 2016 and newer Toyota Tacomas. So, if you've busted up a tail light or you're just looking for an overall replacement for your factory ones, these are gonna be a great choice to take a look into. Now, these will be great for anybody who is a fan of that blacked-out or smoke look and is looking for some better lighting performance in the meantime. Now, this is gonna come with a black housing and a smoked lens as you can tell, but underneath you're gonna have very powerful LEDs that are going to light up the road behind you. This is going to come with multiple LEDs in the middle as well on the outside for the brake light and the turn signal. And you're also gonna have an LED light bar in there as your running light. This is gonna add a lot of style to the back end of the Tacoma, perfect if you're looking to switch up the styling when it comes to your lights. Not to mention that these are going to come with literally everything that you need in order to install them and they are going to be completely plug-and-play making this perfect for somebody who wants a hassle-free install. Now, with that being said these will come in at roughly $350 and I personally think that that's a great price for what you're getting out of this kit. Now, when you take a look at some other options, usually they're gonna be set up a little bit differently as far as the technology and the overall housing and anesthetic is concerned. Some options might incorporate full LEDs as to where this transferred over the halogen reverse light. And some other options may have a red lens or a clear lens, or may take a more classic approach in comparison to this black smoke look that you have here. Now, that kind of comes down to your personal preference once again. However, if you're looking for a blacked-out look with good lighting performance, it's very easy to install, this is going to be a great set to take a look into. Now, when it comes to install, like I said this is going to be completely plug-and-play, very easy. I'm gonna give it a one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter, taking you no longer than an hour to get the job done in your driveway with some very basic hand tools. So, speaking of the install, let's jump into that now. The tools that I used for my install were an impact wrench and a 10-millimeter socket, and a soft pry tool. So, starting with our tailgate open, our first step is to remove the two 10-millimeter bolts that are holding in the side of our tail light. So, for this, you're gonna need a 10-millimeter socket and an impact wrench or you could also use a standard ratchet. So, on the inside of our tailgate here, we're gonna have a couple of bolts. Now, we're gonna be removing the 10-millimeter bolt up at the top and we're also going to be removing the one down at the bottom. So, I'm gonna take that 10-millimeter socket, take those out. So, at this point, the tail light is really only held in by a couple of posts and retainer clips on the back. So, I'm gonna take a soft pry tool just to help me pull the light forward. But I'm just gonna wedge this in the side body here and just pop the light out of place. Then we're gonna have three plugs, all we have to do is just depress that clip and pull back on all three. So, after those three plugs are disconnected, we can put this to the side. So, with our factory tail light out, we are going to have to swap over a couple of things. We're gonna be swapping over our reverse light with the socket and the bulb. So, all we have to do is give this a good twist and pull back. And then we can just do that in reverse order in our new housing making sure that the tabs align up. You just have to press it down flat. Once that's flush, we can give it a good turn and that is secure. Next, we're gonna move up to our running light and our brake light. So, what I'm gonna do is just twist and pull back. Now, we won't be needing the bolts, so we can carefully take that out and put it to the side, and the same thing for our top one. Now, these are gonna be swapped over into our new tail light here, and instead of the bulb being there, this little wiring harness is going to plug in to where the bulb was. Now, I'm gonna start with the middle one. We need to make sure that it lines up with our factory harness here. So, what I recommend to do is take the socket and line that up with the body harness. And then you can locate which side is the ground and which side is the power. Now, the ground is gonna be a white wire with a black trace so we can tell that that is on the left-hand side. So, when we plug this into the wiring harness on our light, we wanna make sure that that power wire is on the right-hand side opposite to the ground wire. So, once that's plugged in, we're gonna tuck that wire in and secure it just like we did with the reverse light. Make sure that it's flush up against there, give it a good turn, and then it'll be secure. Then we're gonna do the same thing for the top one. So, we're just gonna line this up with our factory plug. Taking a look at our wiring, it looks like again on the left-hand side is gonna be our ground wire, which is that white wire with the black trace in it.So, then when taking it over to our new lighting, we wanna make sure that ground wire is lined up where it would be on the harness. We're gonna pop that into place, secure it into the housing. And now we're ready to plug in our new taillight to our body harness. So, next we're gonna plug in our harness starting with the bottom reverse light, we're gonna move up to the middle, and then up to the top. Now, after everything is installed, what I would recommend to do is just double check your connections, make sure that the light is working properly. Once you've done that, we can pop this into place. As you can see on the outside, we're gonna have two studs that are gonna go into the retaining clips to make sure that the back part of our tail light is secure. So, we're gonna pop that into place and line that up. Give it a good press. It should sit in there just like that. And then we can use our factory hardware to secure it down. So, I'm gonna thread this into the top and the bottom mounting locations and we're gonna tighten it up with a 10-millimeter socket. After that's all tightened, we're gonna repeat that same process on the other side. So, before I install the second tail light, I did wanna step down and show you guys our factory one next to our new set of tail lights, show you some of the similarities and the differences, and why upgrading to these is going to be a big upgrade overall in comparison to the factory one. So, just as a brief overview of our factory tail light, we're gonna have a pretty basic and standard setup. We're gonna have that standard red lens, which you see on most tail lights. We'll have the clear lens down at the bottom for our backup light. And all of these lights in here are going to have a halogen technology. So, those are going to be great for a standard stock application. However, when it comes to styling and performance, you're not really getting a lot out of the factory setup. Now, moving over to this new option this is going to be completely different when it comes to styling and the technology that's included inside the tail light itself. Now, on these new tail lights, as you can see, we're gonna have a black housing and a smoked lens, which is gonna give a very sleek and stealthy look to the back end of the Tacoma. Now, on the inside we're gonna have multiple LEDs not only for the turn signal, but also for the brake lights in the middle. And then we're also gonna have an LED light bar in there. Now, it may be a little bit difficult to see on the table but that light bar is going to illuminate red as the running lights, giving you a lot of styling. Now, what I do really like about these is not only the fact that these are going to be incredibly bright, but the smoked lens doesn't really take away from that. So, even though you are gonna have a smoke lens here, these lights are still going to perform very well, making you very noticeable on the street to other drivers and of course, including that styling. Now, like you probably saw before, we did swap over the factory backup light. However, this is going to come with an upgraded reflector. So, instead of the standard factory reflector, this is going to give off a little bit more light when swapping over that factory backup light. Not to mention this comes with everything that you need to install. These are completely plug-and-play like you saw and these are DOT and SAE approved so you can ensure that you are seeing legal while you're driving around with these tail sights. So, overall, I think it's a great setup and they are a big upgrade from our factory lighting. So, what do you say we install the second one and see how they look? So, that's gonna wrap it up for my review and install.
