How to Install a Smittybilt Textured Black XRC Light Bar on your 1997-2006 Wrangler TJ

Step 1: Remove five of the factory bolts on the driver side windshield frame bracket. (Fig A)

Step 2: Remove the same bolts on the passenger side.

Step 3: Install each side upright bracket using the previously removed five factory bolts. Do not fully secure at this time. Use caution when doing this in order to protect the finish of your vehicle.

Step 4: Push on the open ended style end caps on the ends of the top of the uprights. (Fig B)

Step 5: With assistance install the center light bar section using the included hardware. (Bolt and Flat Washer) Note: The light mounting tabs point towards the rear of the vehicle with the flat surface facing up.

Step 6: Tighten the two end bolts completely making sure the center light bar is at your desired position.

Step 7: Secure the windshield bracket bolts that you re-installed on Step 3 completely.

Step 8: Carefully install the closed end caps in each end of the light bar. (Fig C)

Step 9: Installation is now complete. (Fig D) You may now install lights per manufacturers’ instructions.
