Review & Install Video
Hey, what's up, guys? Ryan here from ExtremeTerrain. And today, I'm here with a Smittybilt Wasp Winch Anchor Support Platform. And this is gonna be for those of you that are looking for a heavy-duty winch anchor to provide you some recovery when you're out there on the trails. Now, currently, this item is coming in right around $195, which, I think, is not too bad of a price. As far as these things are priced, this one is pretty average. It's coming around right in the middle. Now, this is a completely collapsible system. It's very easy to set up. It should only take you about 10 minutes to get it out of your Jeep, completely assembled, and already be winching on the ground. So I'm gonna give it a one out of three wrenches on the difficulty meter. Now, if you have a winch, that's a very useful recovery item, but if you don't have a tree to grab onto then this is going to be a very awesome platform and support system for you to use. Now, the way this thing is set up, you have a handle here. You have your blade base, whatever you want to call it. You have this extension rod right here and a D-ring. So all of these things are gonna come included. It's very easy to set up and operate as well. Another nice thing about this is it has adjustability. So you have three different angle settings. And what this thing is gonna allow you to do is basically anchor into anything when there's nothing to grab onto around. Now, this thing will pretty much work for anything that you may come across. If you're off-roading in some rocks, if you're in mud, gravel, sand, even snow, it is gonna allow you to dig into the ground and it's gonna give you a great spot for you to actually grab onto the earth and pull yourself out of a situation when you actually get stuck. Now, this is made of cast steel, which is gonna make it very strong. It's gonna provide maximum strength, durability and it's coated in a zinc coating, which is gonna provide corrosion protection and that's gonna protect this from the elements. So it's gonna keep it from rusting out on you. Now, overall, this is a very heavy-duty system. Honestly, this casting is pretty thick. It's pretty strong. You get a 5-ton D-ring and everything is just really easy to open up, set up, and operate. So, overall, I think that this is a solid product if you're looking for a high-quality item that's very well made, easy to assemble, easy to use, comes with its own storage bag. You're gonna be able to fold this up, throw it in the back of your Jeep and get it out and assemble it very easily whenever you are ready to use it. And I think this is a good product to go with. So, with that being said, that's gonna wrap up my review. For more videos and products like this, keep it right here at ExtremeTerrain.com.
