How To Install a Smittybilt SRC Front Grille Guard Bumper on your 1987-2006 Jeep Wrangler YJ & TJ

  • T55 3/8” torx socket

Installation Instructions: 

1. Take off the existing stock front bumper. 



2. Now take off the fasteners securing the tow hooks. Use the T55 torx bolts (the ones marked by the red arrows), from the stock front bumper and save them because you will be using them to secure the new front bumper. 


3. Now it’s time to install the new bumper. Slide the new bumper onto the brackets marked by the (orange arrows). 


4. First test fit the new bumper, making sure all the holes are lined up. Then install the T55 torx bolts. There should be a total of 4 to install. 


5. You may have to cut away some of the plastic to get the bolt holes to line up on the left and right side of the bumper. This allows the bumper to move forward (towards the rear of the jeep). 


6. Enjoy your new bumper!
