Hot to Install a Smittybilt GEAR Tailgate Cover - Black - On Your 2007 - 2015 Jeep Wrangler JK

1. On 2011 models and up you will first need to remove the tailgate support bracket from the tailgate. Secure the tailgate cover on the tailgate in the best location using tape. Make sure to stretch the tailgate cover as tight as possible. 

2. Once secured, begin drilling the screw holes using a 7/64” drill bit. As you install the included screws make sure to pull all of the slack on the cover to avoid sagging, and do not over tighten the screws. Note: On 2011 models and up, you will need to drill two extra holes for the tailgate support bracket. 

3. Once all screws are secured you can begin to install the pouches. 

4. Begin by determining the best locations for the pouches. Then slide the pouch straps through the webbing in the tailgate cover. Now fold the strap back up and through the webbing on the back of the pouch. Continue sliding the pouch strap through the next rows of webbing, until you are able to secure the fastening snaps together. Then repeat the same steps for the other pouches. 

5. Installation complete!
