    Review & Install Video

I'm Ryan from ExtremeTerrain.com, and this is my review of the Smittybilt Neoprene Seat Covers fitting all 2007 to 2016 JK's. These are available in your choice of four different colors, either the black you see here, charcoal, tan, or red. And they're available for all body styles and year ranges so make sure you get the ones that fit your Jeep. I like seat covers like these for a couple of different reasons. These are really good for those of you who might have an older Jeep that has a worn out seat that you want to cover up and make look new again without the cost of completely replacing the cover that's currently on the seat. These are also good for those of you who are looking to protect your seats that might be in your newer JK because seats do take a good bit of wear and tear. And finally, these are a really nice inexpensive way to completely customize the look of your interior. So if you're looking for a high-quality seat cover to do any of those three things that's really fairly priced, I think these are a nice option. These neoprene seat covers are really well built and they're designed to install really easily in the Jeep and they'll also uninstall really easily so you can throw them in the washing machine if they do end up getting dirty. Now one of the most important things about a seat cover in my mind aside from durability and how well they're going to hold up over time is how they fit. You don't want a seat cover that's going to be baggy and wrinkled and it just looks sloppy and unfinished. These are going to fit really tight, they're not going to have any wrinkles in them, and they almost look like they're factory once you get them installed on the Jeep. Now even though these are neoprene and there's some bad information out there about neoprene, these are not going to be waterproof. They are water resistant and they hold up well to wear and tear, but they're not going to be completely waterproof. Another thing about this material and really any material that any seat cover is going to be made of is that it's not going to completely resist fading. So Smittybilt and I both recommend that you treat this with a UV protectant to keep it from fading. Some colors are going to be more resistant to fading than others but the black and the red are definitely going to fade unless you take care of them. Like I said before these are designed to install really easily in the jeep even though they're a tight fit. The first step in the process is to install the seat backs, then the seat bottoms, and finally the head rest covers. These will install with a couple of different straps, some hook and loop fasteners and some buckles, all to keep them really tight. When you first take these out of the box they might have a couple of wrinkles in them from the packaging but don't worry. Those will work themselves out after you use the seat covers a couple of times. And like I said you'll definitely want to treat these with the UV protectant before you even get them installed in the jeep. The whole installation process shouldn't take you more than an hour and you won't need any tools at all. As with most products, there are certainly seat covers that are more expensive than these and ones that are less expensive. But with something like a seat cover that does take a lot of abuse, especially that drivers seat every time you get in and out of the Jeep, you're putting wear and tear on your seat cover, you're going to want to spend a little bit of money. Those bargain basement brands, they're not going to hold up well. They're going to wear out, they're not going to look good right after you install them and certainly not after your abuse. In my opinion, these are really fairly priced for the quality of the product and for how well they're going to hold up, especially if you take care of them. So if you're looking to protect your new interior, cover up an old worn out one, or just completely change the look of your jeep, this is a really nice option for a seat cover that's going to hold up well over time and isn't going to completely break the bank. So that's my review of the Smittybilt Neoprene Seat Covers fitting all 2007 to 2016 JK's that you can find right here at ExtremeTerrain.com

Do these seat covers make a difference with absorbtion of heat from sun? I have leather seats and although I want to protect the leather i would also at the same time like to get some seat covers which wont “burn” you when you get into Jeep while it has been out in the sun.

Is this water proof? Does if fits in 2018 4 door Rubicon (jl)?

How does the fabric hold up in heat? I live in Arizona.

How close is the "Red" to my "Red Rock Crystal Pearl" 2007 JKU

    MarkR

    • The red in the Smittybilt Neoprene Front & Rear Seat Covers are closest to a wine red, and would be similar in tone to a Red Rock Crystal Pearl Jeep. These two will not be identical in color, but close in tone.

The red looks slightly different from one picture to the other. Is this firecracker red or more like a maroon red?

    KristaS

    • The Smittybilt Neoprene Front & Rear Seat Covers would be closer to firecracker red than a maroon red.

Can these be used on heated seats? How water proof are they?

    Brady4pac

    • The Smittybilt Neoprene Front & Rear Seat Covers are safe to use with heated seats and should be spill resistant since the fabric is Neoprene.

      Great look and wear

I have never used seat covers but these are great. They look really sweet! The back seat covers go on quick and easy. Front takes a little more effort but is easy and the price is affordable! Would definitely recommend!

      Not really red

Fit is fabulous, fairly easy installation. My only issue is there not a true red more maroon. But for the price a good value.

      Good deal

The seat covers are great, they fit well, and are a good bargain. The color is more burgundy than red if that matters. However, if I find the person who thought pushing Velcro between the seats would be an easy feat I will castrate them with a spoon.

      Satisfied customer

The seat covers are very nice. The installation instructions were sufficient. The actual install was a bit difficult. This install took almost 2 hrs. The seats in my Jeep don’t leave much room for the install. I have had to tighten the covers several times; I guess as they are stretching out. Overall a great product

      Nice....but

I’ve had these on my seats for a while now, but be prepared for them to lose their color. I bought the red ones. They now look more like a deep pink.

      Covers great

So I love thcan covers. A few people said tough to get on. But if you move the seats forward and fold the back partial down. Went pretty easy. I recommend doing seat first than the back part as the buckles fit through tight and really tight if you do top first. Also top had Velcro and sticks to dear if bottom not on first. The only reason I give 4 is the buckles don’t stay clasp if u try and tighten and strap losens ad well. But once they are on they fit very nicely. I recommend a stain/water repellent as well as uv protectant. .lmayne cost me another $40 but I think well worth to keep them looking new when the tops off

Nice, just a couple minor details

The seat covers are well constructed and the seat-back portions fit very snugly. My only complaints are the actual seat covers bunch up and leave exposed portions of the seat cushion when you get to the junction of the seat and the seat-back, so it's not a smooth almost seamless transition from seat to backrest. My other complaint is the rear seat-back cover for the larger of my split seats does not have a cut-out or gap in it to accommodate the anchor point (on the underside of the frame of the seat) for the seat-belt latches, so when I wrap the velcro strip down and around to the backside of the seat-back there is a gap near the zipper that shows the original upholstery. These details are all purely cosmetic and do not interfere with the functionality of this product in any way. But if I'm spending the money, I expect such details to be taken into account during the design and manufacturing phases of the product so they aren't an issue.

      Look great

Top is hard to get on just because the space between the back and seat cushion of the seat itself is tight. But I put a piece of cardboard between and then stuffed the flap through with another piece of carboard and pulled it through. This prevents the Velcro from sticking to the seat cloth which makes it almost impossible to pull through. Once you get the top on though the bottom is easy to get on. Took me about an hour to hour and a half to get them all on. But when I see firecracker red I think it’s he same color as my jeep which is also called firecracker red. But these are a darker red. Little brighter than a maroon. But still look nice.

This is a really sharp looking seat cover.

I am amazed at how snug and stylish this seat cover looks once installed.... Wow. You will need a little patience to install, they are snug.... but well worth the effort..... makes a big improvement on the original seat look. I am sure these covers can make any seat look like new and very sporty too!

      Buy these!

Really love these covers, they give the appearance that they are the actual seat, comfortable and look great. I saw on some reviews that people had trouble pushing the Velcro piece through, I'm not sure about the 4dr unlimited model but on the 2 door if you fold the seat back up it will open up the space to make it easier get through . Highly recommend, nice upgrade and will protect original seat.
