Design. Smittybilt's fender flares offer six inches of coverage, but maintain street-legality. Their strong ABS plastic construction is tough enough for the trail, but looks great on the city streets too. They're UV resistant, which means a reduction in fading no matter how long they're out in the sun. Both flexible and crack-resistant, these flares are built to last and to handle anything the road throws their way.

Construction. The kit comes with everything needed for installation: front flares, rear flares, mud guards, fender trim, and all installation hardware. It can be bolted right out of the box, or painted to match the body of the Jeep. Some drilling may be required to get the proper fit, but once installed these flares are sturdy, solid, and secure.

Application. This kit fits 1987 - 1995 YJ Wranglers. Some drilling may be required.

        Decent Fenders

Had a bit of a scare when I first installed these fenders. Something must have reacted to the coating on them and caused some temporary discoloration. However, this issue cleared right up in a matter of days and I'm baffled as to what happened. That aside, this is a great set of fender flares. The rivet style adds a strong and cool look to my '95 and the installation was easy (aside from removing the old rusted factory screws). The only thing I don't like about these fenders is the plastic caps. With even the slightest warp, they fall right off. I don't mind the screws being visible--it actually looks sort of cool. I just feel as though they're unnecessary and not worth the time used to put them on.

        Very happy

Good product. Only problem, I was one screw and cap short. Look great on my '95 YJ.

        screws not bolts

be careful here.. the product is shipped with screws not bolts and nuts. I would have preferred bolts with nuts, however, some of the installation locations of the bolts are not accessible from the outside of the vehicle... i used bolts and nuts in some places and supplied screws in others. you will need longer screws for rear fender installation. mark holes, drill holes install with bolts where possible and screws where you have to. overall I like the look and they are sturdy, but you will need to be creative on installation.

Got the look I was after and full coverage of 31X1050s. Had to substitute hardware. Screws were way too big for the screw covers. Used #10 stainless.

        Great product for the money

Great fit on my 92 YJ. I was skeptical about the flares at first. I looked for a while and kept coming back to these. I didn't like the look at first and thought about spending more for others. I'm happy I made the decision to buy these. They are very sturdy once installed. It did require new holes but in the end it was well worth it.

        Great looking Flares

Looks great on the jeep but still pricey. That's how all Fender Flares are though. Mounted up nice and I'm happy with them.

I ordered and installed one of these on my YJ. I really like how they look. One of the plastic caps that cover the screws came off sone after the install. Is there a part number for them, I'd like to buy some as spares?

      • I am sorry to hear about your Smittybilt Fender Flares for your YJ! Smittybilt does offer a replacement hardware back for these fenders that you can order directly from them for replacement caps.

      • Yes that is correct

My 1995 has rectangular side markers with stock fender flares. If I buy these flares to replace the old ones, will the side markers fit the new set or will I have to buy some of those as well? I really like this set of fender flares and most others I've seen don't have rectangular side markers. Please include purchasing information if needed. Thank you!

      • These Smittybilt Fender Flares are indeed designed to reuse the factory marker lights!

how many fender flares come with this, is there all 4 1 answer
Is there a seal with this kit, that mounts between the flare and the body? 1 answer
The details say these flares are 48x8x26. I need to know if the 8" is directly from the body to the edge of the flares. I am currently running 38x14.5r16 toyos and my current fenders only cover 6" of the tires. I need these to have at least 7" of tire coverage for me to pass inspection. So what is the exact tire coverage size? 1 answer
