How to Install SkyJacker Adjustable Rear Sway Bar (97-06 Wrangler TJ) on your Jeep Wrangler

Installation:

1. Park the vehicle on level concrete or asphalt surface. Set the emergency brake and block the front tires.

2. Locate the rear sway bar. Disconnect the sway bar end links from the sway bar using a 15mm and 18mm wrench. (See Photo #1).

3. Disconnect the rear sway bar from the rear axle using a 15mm socket. (See Photo #2).

4. Place the new polyurethane bushings on to the new Skyjacker Sway Bar. Attach the sway bar to the axle using the factory brackets & hardware. Torque to 40 Ft. Lbs. (See Photo #3).

5. Attach sway bar links to desired position on sway bar using factory hardware. Be sure threads are clean and Torque to 40 Ft. Lbs. (See Photo #4)

Skyjacker's 3/4” OD heavy duty adjustable Jeep TJ rear sway bar is over 250% stronger than the factory OEM sway bar. The outside hole (See Arrow #1) is the lightest setting. The inside hole (See Arrow #2) is the firmest setting. The difference between using either the inside or outside hole will allow approximately a 30% difference in the amount of deflection from the sway bar. This allows you the option to adjust the amount of deflection you desire depending on the type of your suspension, your driving habits or terrain. Typically, the inside hole #2 is used for highway or light offroad use and the outside hole #1 is used for mild to hard core offroading.

Important Note:

The Skyjacker Adjustable Rear Sway Bar does NOT take the place of extended sway bar end links. If a suspension lift has been installed, the extended sway bar links must still be used in conjunction with the sway bar. Picture below is shown installed on factory rear end. If equipped with an aftermarket Dana 60 rear end, the sway bar must be installed so that the bent portion of the bar is located under the axle housing.
