    Premium Power. Turn your 4.2L into a power house with the Scat 9.6:1 Stroker kit. This rotating assembly is completely internally balanced and will give you more power by expanding your engine to 280 Cubic Inches. You'll see greater horsepower with this upgrade with a 9.6:1 compression ratio without boring out your engine.

    Durable Construction. Scat takes great care and is dedicated to making sure their balanced assemblies are sized to the tightest possible specification. This high quality kit is comprised of 2 piece chromoly steel forged rods with 7/16" cap screw ARB bolts for the most reliable fit and are precision honed with diamond tooling for exact tolerances. Dowel capped pistons for precise alignment, a ground and polished crankshaft and all required oil rings are included for a fully complete kit to upgrade your Jeep to supreme power.

    Installation. Upgrading to a stroker kit is an extreme process, requiring full tear down of your engine's rotating assembly. We recommend you have an experienced, professional mechanic install this kit. This stroker kit is internally balanced and does not require boring out your engine.

    Application. This 9.6:1 Scat Stoker Kit is designed for use on 1987-1990 4.2L Jeep Wrangler YJ models.

        what kind of cam and valve train would I need to upgrade to for this kit. its going in a 4.0 tj??

        • This kit does not require upgrades to the valve train or camshafts, and can be run with stock components. Depending on what your looking for in your build, we recommend speaking with an engine builder to find the best set up for you.

        Is a camshaft and fuel injectors also recommended for the 9.61 kit and what would approximate horsepower and torque be with upgrades

        • We would highly recommend upgrading your camshafts and fuel injectors when using this Scat Stroker Kit since you will be increasing combustion volume. Depending on your exact set-up and the calibration, the results will vary.

        The details for both Kits (J101238 or J101239) states that they will work for 91-06 models Jeep blocks without the need of boring or machining? However The displacement differs between 1990-1995 and 1996–2006 4.0L engines by 2 cu. Also, In the details it says "Upgrades Your 258 CI to 280 CI" ?? Is this a mistake, isn't this for the 242 CI as the 258 (4.2L) was up to 1990 models only !! Could you clarify with the manufacturer? and whether it will work on a 2006 AMC 242 cu (4.0 L) Jeep TJ? Thanks

            Stroker kit.

            This kit came with everything I needed. Buy a cam and new valve train tho.
