Hey, what's up, guys? Ryan here from ExtremeTerrain, and today I'm here with the Rugged Ridge Recovery Strap 3 inch by 30 feet with a 30,000-pound rating. This is pretty reasonably priced. Currently, this strap is coming in right around $40 which I think is a pretty good price point for what you're getting. And this is a very good, useful piece of recovery gear that you should definitely have with you if you're an avid off-roader.Now, recovery straps differ from a tow strap. A tow strap is a very rigid strap. It's good for towing, exactly like in the name and also it normally has hooks on the end of it. Now, what makes the difference between a tow strap and a recovery strap is also a very beneficial aspect to a recovery strap, and why it is a very useful piece of equipment for us to bring with us when we go off-roading. The main difference is going to be the elasticity. A tow strap like I said is a very rigid strap, and it's for strict pulling. What is beneficial about a recovery strap is that elasticity. So the elasticity aids in recovery and the way that it aids is it allows this strap to stretch. So when you decide to use this strap the way that it's gonna work, you're gonna hook up to both vehicles. A recovery strap is going to allow you to get a head start, build up some momentum. And what this strap is actually gonna do is it's gonna stretch just a little bit. And it's gonna ease that shock load which would normally break a tow strap, or cause a lot of harm to your vehicle. And that way you can pull your buddy out when they do they get stuck. This is very useful to have. It's a very easy thing to use if you don't want to spool out that wench line. You don't want to mess around with that, and it's not exactly needed in that particular recovery point. You can hook this up to one of the Jeeps, to a D-ring in a tow hitch, whatever you want to do, hook it up to another Jeep, and that way you guys can just yank each other out, and get out of that stuck situation. Now another way that this strap would be very useful is if your winch line isn't long enough. If you do get stuck, a tree is very far away, you just don't have the amount of wench line that you need. You got an extra 30 feet with this strap. Now, this strap is constructed of nylon webbing. So it is 3 inches wide, 30 foot long, and has a rating of 30,000 pounds which is plenty for pretty much anything you're gonna do or anybody that you want to pull out that is stuck. Now, it has reinforced eyelets on the end, and this is gonna be great because it's just gonna be abrasive resistant. You're not really gonna wear through that when you're sticking it through a D-ring, or like I said a tow hitch, anything that you're really hooking onto. Now, that nylon webbing is mildew resistant. So unlike a normal strap that's made of fabric, they're gonna get wet. They're gonna start to stink. That's gonna affect the integrity of that strap. You're not gonna have this issue with this strap. That's gonna aid in the longevity of this and of course, the whole durability aspect of this strap. Now, this strap is orange. It's gonna be very easy to see when you have it out. It's gonna be very easy to see when it's in the back of your Jeep, of course, to find it, get it out, and use it. And like I said for the price, for the ease of use, the construction, the quality, everything that you're getting out of this strap overall I think that it's a very good strap. And it's an affordable option that you can just throw in the back of your Jeep and of course, take with you when you're off-roading. So, guys, that's gonna wrap it up for my review. Heavy Duty Nylon Measuring at 3 Inches Wide and 30 Feet Long
5 lbs (Weight)
Capacity. The Rugged Ridge recovery strap is perfect for any rescue. With a pulling capacity of 30,000 lbs this strap can easily handle any problem you encounter. Measuring in at 3 inches wide and 30 feet long making this a valuable tool for any Jeep owner.
Winch & Line Specs. The recovery strap is constructed form a durable mildew resistant nylon and has reinforced eyes. This nylon acts very differently then other polyester straps. Instead of trying to fight the shock when pulling, the nylon accepts the shock and uses it to keep the strap under control. This makes for a better line when towing other vehicles which ultimately means a faster rescue time. This Rugged Ridge recovery strap is a valuable tool for any Jeep enthusiasts who loves the great outdoors as much as they love the open road.
I bought this item as a replacement to the cheap recovery straps I had that would fall apart with little to no pressure. This strap works amazingly and without fail and does what it is made to do. My strap was recently used to pull a stuck van from a ditch and did so without any issues.
I was a little worried about the price thinking it was going to rip or snap easily. Once I took it out to to recover my friends Jeep it had absolutely no probem. When it really probed its self was when I got a call that my platoon had sunk 2 Humvees. I took the strap and hooked it up to two up armored humvees that where half way deep in the Louisiana mud and snached each one about 10 times and it didn't rip or anythin. I'm am extremely impressed with the way this was constructed. Will recommend to evergone. Great product
Heavy duty and clearly well made. I picked it up as an upgrade to my recovery kit which has a 10' tow strap. I can think of situations where the extra length would definitely come in handy. I may never need 30,000 lbs, but for a minimal cost above the 2" x 30', may as well have the extra strength. Can't be too prepared.
The site was very easy to navigate and provided me with more than enough choices to pick through. I found exactly what I was after. I thought that it was very nice to see free shipping offered for my offer. I made my choice because other customer reviews were positive and your own video reviews were also helpful while making my choice.
Jay M's, 2010 Wrangler JK Sahara UnlimitedCustomer Service Specialist I’ve always been into cars of all kinds but I really fell in love with my dad’s Jeep. That Jeep was the first vehicle that I felt free in. There is absolutely nothing on the road that is like it except for another Jeep. I love the family associated with the jeep community and the aftermarket options...
