    Review & Install Video

I'm Ryan from ExtremeTerrain.com, and this is my review of the Rugged Ridge Neoprene Seat Covers, fitting all 1997-2006 TJs. There are both front and rear seat covers available, and they're available for Jeeps from 1997-2002, and 2003-2006, because Jeep did change the interior a little bit. These seat covers are available in black, black and gray, black and tan, or black and red, so you can match whatever theme you're going for. The seats are an area of your interior that definitely take a beating. Every time you slide in and out of the Jeep, you're putting wear and tear on the seats. And in our older TJs, the seats can be in pretty poor condition. Seat covers like these will cover up that damage for a lot less money than it would cost to completely recover the seat, or to replace the seat. And if your seats are still in good condition, a seat cover will give your interior a custom look, and offer some protection to your aging seats. Now, I really like these seat covers in particular because I think they fit really well, even compared to other seat covers on the market. And part of that is due to the fact that these are designed to fit specifically on your year-range Jeep. Jeep did change the seats from 2002-2003, and some of the other seat covers on the market are designed to work on any seat from 97-06. These are designed specifically for the seats that you have in your Jeep, so they're gonna fit really well. These seat covers are really well built, and they're made of a neoprene material. Now, neoprene is what wet suits are made out of, and a lot of people think that neoprene is waterproof. It is not. It is water resistant, and if you have a spill and you brush it off really quickly, it won't soak in too fast. And neoprene does a good job of repelling other dirt and stains. If you do get your seat covers dirty, you can always pull them off and throw them in the washing machine to get them clean. Now, one thing about a seat cover, or any area of your interior that sees a lot of direct sunlight, is that they can fade. Some colors are more susceptible to fading than others, like black and red, but no matter what color seat cover you get, I would recommend treating it with a UV protectant to keep them from fading. Anyone who's installed seat covers knows that the process is really simple, but can be a little bit frustrating. A seat cover that looks good when it's finished is one that fits really tightly without being baggy or wrinkly, and unfortunately, that means it makes them really hard to stretch over the factory seats. You will wanna give yourself some time to make sure that these get installed right the first time, and after that, you won't have to mess with them again. These seat covers attach to the seats using hook and loop fasteners and plastic buckles on adjustable straps, which means that they'll get cinched down nice and tight, and they won't move around. The whole process shouldn't take you more than an hour to get them installed, and you won't need any tools at all. These seat covers are a little bit more expensive than other seat covers on the market that are neoprene, and that attach to the seat in much the same way. I do like these covers over some of the other ones because, like we said before, these are designed to work on specific sets of seats. Other seat covers are designed to work in any TJ, and these are designed to work specifically on your year-range, which means that they should fit a little bit better. As far as the quality of the materials and the quality of the build, I would say they're similar to a lot of the other seat covers on the market. So, whether you're looking to cover up your damaged factory seats without spending the money to have them completely recovered or replaced, or you already have seats that are in good condition and you want to protect them and give your interior a custom look, these seat covers are a really nice option that fit really well, even if they are a little bit more expensive than some of the other ones available. So, that's my review of the Rugged Ridge Neoprene Seat Covers, fitting all 1997-2006 TJs, that you can find right here at ExtremeTerrain.com.

Rugged Ridge Neoprene front seat covers

They were a little expensive when compared with other companies covers. They fit very well and are easy to install and are worth the extra cost. I could not me more pleased with the end product. J. J. Frey TJ Wandler

      Looks great

The covers fit well and look nice. Much better than the cloth covers I used before. They’re not cheap but make the Jeep look good.

      Faded.

I loved these seat cover when I first got them. Easy to install and nice snug fit. Unfortunately less than 3 months of having they are almost completely faded and look grey. For over $200 I expected them to last a lot longer

      Love the way these look

My factory seats were starting to tear and have seen better days, so I ordered a set of these and absolutely love them. They were built very well and fit snug.

      Neoprene seat covers.

When I got this Jeep the interior was a rather ratty. I have slowly added black to various things to combat all the old looking tan of the interior. These seat covers are awesome. The fit great and clean up nicely. I have even learned a trick or two to get the dog hair off them after short rides with my travel buddy. On long trips he is either crated in the back, I removed the back seat and seat belts, and just recently since he has gotten a little older I have installed a dog barrier behind the front seats so he can chill in his bed in the back. But as a travel buddy he usually gets up front a few times a month and these seat covers are a blessing, easy to clean and they make the interior look really nice.

Nice fit and great look and feel.

Thise covers fit snug over my seats. Once done they blended well with the rest of the interior. Already saved them from a spill and cleanup was a snap. The only downside are the buckles. The plastic buckles are prone to break when tightening the covers into place. Had to McGyver them at times but the fit keeps them in place.
