Construction. Rugged Ridge's Easy Load trail rack is manufactured out of tough welded steel tubing and finished with resilient powder coating. The fixture weighs 16 pounds, and the basket portion measures 39 inches by 22 inches by 4.5 inches when assembled. Carrying capacity is 50 lbs, well above the dust and debris kicked up from the trail by the Jeep's wheels. The rack has a 5 year limited warranty against defects and fits 1987-2002 Jeep Wrangler YJ and TJ vehicles.

Specs. The Easy Load provides uniquely positioned rear carrying capacity, putting coolers, tents, camp stoves, and other items far above ground level and thus keeping them cleaner. The Euro esthetics of the rack make it look good besides functioning well. It is also very quick and easy to fit, with no drilling or cutting involved.

Application. Assembling the basket is the first step in installing the Rugged Ridge easy load trail rack. The spare tire and its mount are removed, exposing 9 mounting holes. 4 of these are used to bolt on the vertical mount for the trail rack, and the other 5 are used to replace the spare tire mount. The spare tire and basket are attached, all accessible nuts and bolts are tightened, and the rack is ready for use.
