How to install a Rugged Ridge CB Radio Mount Bracket in your 2007-2015 Jeep Wrangler JK

  • #2 Phillips Head Driver
  • T-25 Torx Driver, or T-15 Torx Driver
  • 3/8" Drill Bit
  • Drill

07+ JK CB Mount

Components:

1. CB Mounting Bracket (1)

2. M5 Well Nut (2)

3. M5x20 Philips Head Machine Screw (2)

4. M5x12 Philips Head Machine Screw (2)

5. M5 Locking Hex Nut (2)


1. Position sun visors against side windows. Remove center portion of plastic windshield frame cover by gently pulling down until the clips release. 


2. For 2007-2010 model JK’s: drill out rivets using 3/8” drill bit. Rivets will be replaced with Well Nuts.


3. For 2011 model JK’s: remove center footman loop by removing (2) Torx Screws.


NOTICE Be careful not to drill too deep, you may damage other side of windshield frame.


4. For 2007-2010 model JK’s: insert Well Nuts into newly drilled holes in sheet metal. If drilled holes are too large to snuggly fit Well Nuts, secure with small amount of super glue.


4. For 2007-2010 model JK’s: insert Well Nuts into newly drilled holes in sheet metal. If drilled holes are too large to snuggly fit Well Nuts, secure with small amount of super glue.


5. For 2007-2010 model JK’s: use provided M5x20 screws to install CB Mount and footman loop with CB Mount on outside.


6. For 2011 JK’s: use factory Torx screws to install CB Mount and footman loop with CB Mount on outside.


7. Replace center plastic windshield frame cover. Install CB Mount, radar dectector, or GPS device using M5x15 bolts and Locking Hex Nuts.


NOTICE Make sure any installed devices are secure, and safe. Do not obstruct rear view mirror.
